Rodger's said he didn't think last nights game was "a big showpiece game where you have to play your best players"! If playing the Champions , the biggest club in the world away in the biggest competition in the World is not a "big showpiece game" then I don't know what is!

Knowing Liverpool's luck atm, Toure will start instead of Lovren and will make a huge mistake. Lucas should definitely start.

I don't know what Rodgers has against lucas but he is what we miss in midfield... that will also free gerrard up more to go forwards, lucas should start instead of allen every game...

Also Doumbia from CSKA would be worth having a look at in january, really fast and powerful, just scored 2 past city in 30 mins.

And if you read the comments of articles criticising him you'll see they nearly all support Brendan , you'll know when he's lost the fans when the Kop and the fans who travel away with us start booing the team .

You mean the people in the media.. all of liverpools past "yes men" are supporting him and people still linked to the club in one way or another...so they can't really criticise him..

To say playing Real Madrid, 10 times winners, away at the Bernabau , Current CL champions, in the Champions League as manager of Liverpool, 5 time winners is "not a showpiece game" is ridiculous, he might aswell have not bothered turning up... what kind of message is he sending to the players and fans?..

Fans have waited 5 years and The team worked so hard last year to get back in the CL, then the clown comes out and says "its not a showpiece game".. poor management.. if he looses at Chelsea at the weekend and look he has more questions to answer.. it's clear he is lost and out of his depth and ideas...

How do their 2 opinions "really matter"?... what about the 1000's of others who disagree... tell you what wait until tomorrow and see what the reaction is when we loose the game and are beat comfortably...

Like I said a manager who says playing away in the CL group stages against Real Madrid isn't a big showpiece game needs his head looking at.. he's trying to be something he isn't...
