Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is set to make a move for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao if he misses out on other targets, according to the Daily Mirror.Rodgers desperately wants to bring Anzhi playmaker Willian to Anfield but that move is set to be hijacked by Tottenham orManchester United who can offer European football.So the Liverpool manager is looking to tie up a cheap deal to bring Damiao to Merseyside to give competition to Daniel Sturridge and Iago Aspas up top.Tottenham and Southampton have had talks with Damiao’s club Internacional over the past few months but it appears to be between Liverpool and Napoli as to the striker’s destination.Luis Suarez is still to play a key part in the Reds’ transfer goings on between now and September 2 but after apologising to his team mates and manager, the Uruguayan is now  back training with the first team and was even out on the Anfield turf yesterday before the opening day victory over Stoke.

I can see f**king Spurs signing him with a last minute bid or some rubbish.... just pay them the money and get it done... we can't miss out on another target!

well the dream of signing him is all over now, bookies have spurs as favourites and journalist all over twitter saying that spurs are willing to offer him more money than we are..

It's a bit of competition for the lad's signature, to be expected. Club need to get it over the line.

Andy Hunter thinks we're closer to signing him than Tottenham.

Di Marzio is GOOD! I would trust him over ANYBODY else. Always been absolutely spot on whenever i have read him reporting about City's sagas in the past.
