Atlético Madrid have denied reports that they have received an offer for centre-forward Diego Costa from Liverpool.
The La Liga club told Spanish newspaper AS on Thursday evening that they have not received any offers, from Liverpool or any other club for the Brazilian.
Atlético affirmed that there is no possibility that Costa will leave the Vicente Calderón this summer or even next year.
Reports in the English media have claimed that Liverpool have submitted an offer of £21.8m (€25m) to lure the 24-year-old to Anfield.
Speaking earlier this week, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insisted he has plenty of funds at his disposal to further strengthen his squad following the arrivals of Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto, Simon Mignolet and Kolo Touré.
“They have to be of the right quality, that’s the bottom line,” said Rodgers. “We’ve got money to spend on getting that quality in, but if it’s not available I won’t waste it for the sake of bringing a player in.”
