It's not a big blow as he was never our player , a big blow would be losing somone like Agger or Coutinho .

Every team misses out on a target every now and then but not getting the player you wanted more than any other is a blow for a manager. Make no bones about it. We've been trying to sign the fella all summer, losing out on him sets us back.

He was option A, meaning Rodgers and our scout team think he's a better player than option B or C, who we're now gonna have to go after.

Be interesting to see who they are.

If that is the case why did it take us so long to get a deal done? And why did Dortmund manage to sign him in just a matter of days?

I think if we really wanted him that much we would have acted quicker and paid the money?

Will be interesting now like you say to see who else we sign, we do need another big name signing i think.

I'm going with what James Pearce from the echo puts out on twitter, himself, Tony Barrett and one or two other lads have contacts within the club.

#LFC have admitted defeat in their bid to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Shakhtar have informed them he's on the brink of signing for Dortmund.

#LFC did speak to his representatives on a number of occasions but weren't able to hold talks with the player.

#LFC never got chance to speak to him directly.

Until it's all signed you never know but as far as #LFC are concerned he has opted to go to Dortmund. Can't see that changing.

it seems the fee between the clubs wasn't the issue. #LFC couldn't get past the agent to speak to the player.



All sounds like a bit of a mess to me.

Another example of agents ruining the game.

Maybe LFC should go for Bernard with Porto, Dortmund were interested in him so maybe now they have Mkhitaryn they will not buy Bernard also.

He will be fantastic player in a season or so and is one of best talents in Brasil now. Bernard and Coutinho together will be great on either wing he can play behind ST too and in midfield.

Rodgers should stick £10m in one of his white envelopes, fly to Madrid, slap it on Carlo Ancelotti's desk and say that's for Xabi Alonso.

Best money he'd spend.

Swap Sakho for Kolo, Bernard for Aspas, Villa/Martinez for Sturridge and give our new keeper a place on the bench at least and we might be getting there.

Sterling, Hendo, Allen, Downing, Skrtel and Luis Alberto will be looking for a place as well.

Wouldn't say no to your new additions though.
