RE: Liverpool FC
I've got to agree with Mr77 on Reina (??? I know) he has been and still is one the top keepers in the game.
I'm not sure if It's all the Barcelona talk or if his relationship with Rodgers is a bit strained, for his lack of form, but I'd have him in my team all day long, without question.
However!!!! I do think he will leave at the end of the season,so I believe the keeper issue will be sorted then.

RE: Liverpool FC
But you'd only have him in the team still if we didn't sign a top quality goalkeeper

Not at all.
But It doesn't help the fact, that for quite a while now,he hasn't really had a number 2 that has realistically been challenging him,so that could quite easily explain some of his complacency.
So in a nutshell what I'm saying is:Reina= Top Keeper:No real quality No.2= Complacency and finally,I believe he'll be off at the end of the season, which would be a loss to us,no matter what people think.

If reina leaves at the end of the season, can't say i'd be too bothered, his mind is in other places at the moment, far too many mistakes that are costing us, yes everybody makes them but he's doing it far too many times the last few seasons, if its true valdez wants to leave barca i'd happily have him as a replacement, or Julio Cesar, then bring in another decent keeper as number 2, jones isn't anywhere near good enough either, somebody like al habsi from wigan would be a decent number 2 or mingnolet from sunderland.

Hmm al-habsi would be a risk, because anyone could look good in a wigan goal because they leak about 10-15 attempts at goal a game. But I'd still have him, doubt he'd want to come sit on a bench though

Been really pissed off bythe fact that some people clearly no nothing about football. I've seen a few tweets today saying like "Liverpool been caught match fixing" "Liverpool under suspicion" and so on....
If people listened correctly then they'd understand liverpool had NOTHING to do with it, they were just Debrecen's oppositon. Why would a liverpool player who's on between £20,000-100,000 want to match fix for a few grand.
Shit just really pissed me off, clearly not football fans :@

they aint said its that match though hav they they just say its been under investigation. every1 knows liverpool wouldnt be in with it, and its already been mentioned that a team can play in a fixed match without even knowing it! all it needs is a goalie to let enough goals in which is why it cant be that match unless the goalie failed miserably by only letting 1 goal in. any idea how many shots were on target.

have your own opinion, lead dont follow.

Yes it can. It was that match. The goalkeeper has already been cleared of any fixing of that result, but fined for not promptly reporting the attempt to bribe him to the authorities.

I think if Liverpool went in for Valdes then that would be a downgrade from Reina. Valdes is too error prone and is a bit of a flapper although he is good on the ball, which may appeal to Rodgers, I think Liverpool need a goalkeeper that has authority and can give the defence confidence that their is a reliable goalkeeper behind them.

In other news related to Liverpool, it appears that Liverpool are interested in Newcastle's Ben Arfa and may look to do a deal in the summer. He is one of Newcastle's best players perhaps even our best player overall, so I would be gutted to lose him. I do expect him to leave in the summer though because I think I remember him saying that he wants to play in the Champions League and we can't offer him that. Now I don't expect Liverpool to play in the Champions League football next season either, but they seem to have the advantage of offering Carroll in exchange, which could persuade Newcastle to do a deal.

I wouldn't be happy with a Ben Arfa/Carroll exchange with some money involved, I would rather just take a fee of around 20 million and invest some of that cash in another player. Carroll may have his uses, but it just gives Pardew the licence to play 4-4-2, which clearly didn't work when we played that formation in the first half of the season.

If Liverpool do manage to buy Ben Arfa in the summer transfer window then their attacking four of Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho and perhaps Ben Arfa would terrify opposition defenders.
