BounceBounceBounce Priceless.........

Yeah liked that quote to and its so true, just our lot in later to see the conclusion.

I didn't expect us to just need three wickets, if I had been pinned down to say an amount it would of been five. Fantastic to see Prior get his ton also yesterday and to see Swann hit a couple of blows for the first time this series.

Anyway I look forward to watching tonight and seeing us with the urn again.

Over this summer, I can't wait we should beat Sri Lanka in our conditions but the India series could be a good one, hope we get good weather all summer long but nothing to really dry up the pitches too much hey... oh but we do have the best spinner in the world.

3-1 3-1 3-1 3-1 3-1 3-1

@ comsonaut - I don't think Strauss would ask Collingwood to bowl again. We won't need him, so why make his last day in test cricket a few balls of military medium trundling for little or no reward? Particularly when his last delivery removed Hussey. If we need a part timer today (god forbid!), it will almost certainly be KP or Trott.

Speaking of Collingwood, I'm going to miss him. I know that this last series hasn't been his best ever with the bat, far from it in fact, but I've always enjoyed what he does for the team. I haven't always enjoyed watching him do what he does, but sometimes in cricket you need someone who'll just block out the opposition and nurdle their way to a 320 ball 85. Usually, over the course of his test career when England have needed someone to do that, Collingwood has stepped up. I'll also miss watching him in the field, where he's amongst the very best that I've ever seen. In my own time watching cricket, when it comes to fielding it's been Rhodes, Ponting (spits), Penney, Collingwood and then everyone else a good distance below that level. When you consider the high standards of modern international fielding, that's saying something. Perhaps England have outgrown Collingwood, as well. It's telling that every batsmen mentioned as his possible replacement is by nature a very attacking player, be it Morgan (likely to get first crack of the whip), Bopara, Hildreth, Lyth, Kieswetter as a specialist batsman or even moving Prior to 6 and Bresnan up to 7 when Broad returns, implying that England are now strong enough go to into matches one specialist batsmen short.

I for one am a little sad to see him go, even though the timing is exactly right for him to do so, but I'm also extremely grateful for what he's done for the team, both with the bat and in the field, as well as his part time military medium and the odd surprise wicket.

Colly will still be around in the limited overs arena and don't forget he will play a bigger role in the World Cup than he did here, he'll be fine for that and bowl his cutters. Still his career has had many highlights (just a few of his notable innings http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-20...95573.html)

Over the side going forward in Tests, Morgan is likely to get the first go. Collingwood's overs can go to KP and Trott (who hasn't bowled this series) and Anderson and Trott will no doubt take his place at 3rd slip. Out of those contenders, I liked to see Hildreth given a chance at some point down the line, he has been knocking on the door for a while but has been fantastic recently. But yeah with a four (KP), five (Bell) and then whomever comes in at 6 being an attacking player it'll be different from the days of Collingwood in the middle. Putting Prior up to 6 with then I would put at the minute 'three number 8s' at 7, 8 and 9 may work but I don't think for the time being they will jump into that, maybe when they want to get the second spinner in which by the way could be Rashid in one of those 7-9 batting places for when we are next in India and Sri Lanka (which may be next winter possibly)

How do you know that? The match isn't over yet so Collingwood may possibly bowl again. He also has 9 catches in the series, the most by anyone on either side except the wicketkeepers.

Possible, but as Mister Gummidge says, highly unlikely. I doubt Strauss will require Colly's medium pace "dobbers" to roll over three Aussie tailenders.

Not true. England only need to draw this match to win the series.

England win 1st 20-20 international off the last ball with 9 wickets down.

Good team performance by England, but dropped catches cost Australia the match.
But good early batting and death bowling by Shane Watson proves he's World Class allrounder.
