Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

Yep, dead on arrival.

All of the stuff they've shown doesn't make me want to watch it at all, that makes me sad considering I've watched almost everything Star Trek.
The fact that Strange New Worlds is awesome makes me wonder why this doesn't feel right at all, something is off for me and I don't know what.

1st 2 episodes now available, gets a thumbs up from me

I'm seeing positive feedback from most, with only a few worrying about them going too teen drama down the line.
So have the trailers done them dirty, because they sucked ass?

First 20 minutes was passable but generic, after that it was shite. Picardo must be running short of cash to agree to appear in this nonsense and Holly Hunter is hopelessly miscast. As for the shouty Jem'Hadar/Klingon character....actually I can't be bothered


I nodded off before the end of Episode 1.

I thought Reddit was overly positive, lol, IMDB seems to be the most balanced place by the looks of it.

I have very little patience for shows now, burned too many times by sticking with stuff that just wasn't good enough. Might be a one and done in that case. lol.

Again it's the kind of show that certain professional critics with certain political leaning agendas will fawn over. Real reviews from real people tell a different story. Will avoid like the plague.

In the interests of fairness...and because I'm probably an idiot, I'll give it another go from the point where it sent me into a coma. If I don't post on here again it's because I've thrown my laptop at the TV.

Episode 2 is, as expected "Horny Teens in Space". The lead character spends most of the episode trying to pull a cute Betazoid while her planet conducts a bizarre public negotiation to rejoin the Federation. The Doctor sings some Opera....for some unfathomable reason.

The Star Trek 60th Anniversary Intro was great seeing the different starships from each of shows was cool touch.
