8.6 To the river Findhorn, in the Highlands, ostensibly to find salmon, though they do better catching trout. Paul's had a skin issue on his scalp, so Bob gave him a haircut. Bob cooked venison buns, and later caught a tiddly salmon all by himself.

Been another steady series of entertainment, given they presumably never expected to last this long when they started it.
M&W: Gone Christmas Fishing
8.x To Cornwall to meet Dawn French, to catch some fish for once, and to lightly suggest that Ted might not be in the next series, if there is one.

Talking Pictures: John Hurt
Maybe a rushed-out version from 2017, but he was the kinda guy who did do interviews with some grace at least, which helps. So a blend from Russell Harty to Jonathan Ross (but no Parky or Wogan, so much for them).

Maggie Smith's Cinema
A repeat from 1970, with Michael Aspel asking the questions, and some lengthy clips from her chosen films.

Sam West remembers... Prunella Scales
As the start of an evening of BBC4 repeats, a son recalls his mother. Weird that he'll be 60 next year, he seems to have been playing juvenile for ever.

The Footage Detectives - last show of 2025
Some curious NY reels, like a guide to the New Forest, and at a fish market. Frazer Hines writes in to slag off another actor for having his hands in his pockets.

Talking Movies: Review of 2025
Tom Brook has a pessimistic look at a bad year in Hollywood, but rehashes some films he made in Cannes and London and counts down his top 10 films of the year.

Regular Beeb series - here the guests were Stephen Fry and "AI expert" Yoshua Bengio. We're doomed, in case you hadn't heard.

The Bottom Line
Steve Clemons does a double from Doha; first the tedious Bronwen Maddox, an archetypal think tank wonk, discussing Trump's take on the Middle East, then former Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif, with far less illusions about Trump or the prospects for peace between his country and Trump's.
