She's not very popular with Republicans and has almost zero popularity with anyone else. According to recent polling, if she ran for the Georgia governor or a senate seat she's be beaten easily.

Her popularity is currently at 15%. Even Vance scores 30%. The approval ratings are -22% for her and -6% for Vance. If she ran for the Senate seat 10% of Republicans polled said they would vote Democrat rather than vote for her.

She could run for President as an independent of course. That would be her only realistic chance of being taken seriously. It didn't do Robert F. Kennedy Jr any harm. He got a job out of doing it.

Depends which MTG shows up. She's apparently been rowing back a lot of the batshit crazy stuff and even apologising for some of it.
There's more to her fall out with Trump than the Epstein files. She's been heavily critical of his tariffs and cuts in medicaid because of the way it's hitting her constituents. So actually doing her job properly as a congresswoman.

Maybe she's not as crazy as she looks. Just used the Trump playbook to get elected.

She sounded almost reasonable in her CNN interview, however, as we all know, she's actually a vile old hag. MTG v Trump is just a typical Rats in a Barrel scenario.

Everything she says and does is performative and the “apology tour” about her own use of toxic language seems tactical.

The whole Republican Party must be asking itself: what does this party look like after Trump?

I think she thinks she has enough credit in the bank with the MAGA faithful to keep that part of the tent in line. So now she is moderating her views and language to tap a wider audience.

Maybe she runs in 2028 or maybe she doesn’t. But I’d wager she’ll soon have pollsters in the field taking the temperature of primary voters in Iowa and New Hampshire.

She doesn't need pollsters in the field to know she's unpopular. This is someone who got windy when Trump said he was going to endorse another Republican candidate against her and decided to resign her seat rather than fight it.

If she's not prepared to fight for her own seat she's hardly going to make a Presidential candidate. By the way, according to Newsweek, if she ran for Governor of Georgia she'd be behind 5 other candidates in the polling.

If anyone fancies a wager, you can get 66/1 at Ladbrokes and Coral on Marjorie Taylor Greene being the next US President, although Paddy Power is taking her more seriously and only offering 40/1.

Not sure I would take that bet, but only because if Trump ends his term in the low-40s approval range, then I expect the next president to be a Democrat anyway. But I would absolutely take those odds on MTG being the Republican candidate.

Interesting that the line coming out from the politIcal commentators is less about MTG running scared from a maga stooge being stood against her, and is more about a growing disillusionment among representatives who are just being used to rubber stamp white house policy, and have little real authority beyond that.
Word is more resignations may follow, which could erode the republicans already wafer thin majority in the congress even before the potential bloodbath of next years mid-terms.

That is fair comment, munch. Although Marjorie did specifically refer to her forthcoming "hateful primary" as her reason for resigning.
