Flacco (40) vs Rodgers (41) is only the 4th time since 1950 that two 40 year old QB's have faced each other, last time was in 2020 Brady (43) vs Breese (41)

Bengals 33 - 30 Steelers
Flacco won the battle of the old guard as he put on a display with some big plays by both QB's. Ja'Marr Chase had 16 catches for 161 yards & a TD. Tee Higgins 6-98-1 TD, Chase Brown 108 yards on 11 carries. Flacco 31/47, 342 yards, 3 TDs.
After being behind 10-0 the Bengals then scored 20 unanswered points. From that point despite further scores from the Steelers, the Bengals remained ahead until a deep ball from Rodgers found Freiermuth for a 68 yard TD hook up to tie the game.
Flacco had over 2 minutes to drive downfield to set up the go ahead field goal, which left 7 seconds for Rodgers to launch a Hail Mary which was batted down by a Bengals defender & the celebrations started.
Praise has to go to the Bengals defence as the Steelers were limited to 19 1st downs & forced to punt on 7 occasions. Rodgers was kept to 249 yards passing with 4 TDs but had 2 costly interceptions. Freiermuth had 5 receptions for 111 yards & 2 TDs. Jaylen Warren had 166 carries for 127 yards, but significantly the Bengals had almost 10 minute advantage in time of possession.

A really enjoyable watch with 2 veterans rolling back the years knowing they want have many more night like these.
Yet again this result shows the wide open nature of this season.

The Bengals avoided a pretty big hole in the division with that win. They just need to hang around .500 till Burrow comes back. It's a tall task, but they do have Ja'marr Chase and Flacco looked a lot more comfortable than he was with the Browns. The Browns lack weapons on offense.

The Bengals defense is suspect (especially without Trey Hendrickson)

Same rings true for the Ravens as crazy as that sounds. 1-5 might be too deep to dig out of, but the defense showed signs of life against the Rams

The Browns schedule eases up at least, but I'm not that delusional

The AFC as a whole is wide open

There was a lot of criticism about trading Flacco to a divisional team but it is not as if the Browns will make the playoffs, or highly unlikely & Flacco could be done this year or next. He serves a purpose even at the Browns, buying some time before exposing less empierced options. You make a great point, Flacco had average weapons at the Browns. The Bengals O-Line worked well for both run & pass, they have a template, & can open up the playbook more as he learns the system. Flacco will never have had so much fun in a game you could see his enjoyment after the game in interviews. Simple plan get the ball to Chase even if he's covered & Tee Higgins is class too. Even in his Super Bowl win with the Ravens he didn't have this sort of quality at WR.
What has taken the gloss off this win is dragging out old Trump footage from that time praising Joe. The NFL has been great this season so why spoil it, keep politics away.

I sure have had to eat loads of humble pie over the last 40yrs (won Superbowl in 1st season i supported them in 1985 and basically done nothing since) so I'm definitely making the most of this current win streak Chicago is currently on
