Bob Milkins - Take a bow.
4 tons in a 5-4 win over Jimmy Robertson.
Wow.

Shaun Murphy beat Wu Yize in a very high quality encounter 5-4 while Mark Williams avenged his English Open defeat by getting past Zhou Yuelong 5-2.
Oliver Lines edged past Elliot Slessor 5-4 while Lyu Haotian also prevailed by the odd frame against Matthew Stevens. And Gary Wilson eventually overcame Mateusz Baranowski in a decider.

Shaun Murphy has obliterated Kyren Wilson 5-0 after a quite ridiculous performance. Breaks of 74, 141, 133 and two 84s saw him score 533 points without reply until a foul on the pink in frame 5. Wilson did not pot a ball.
Gary Wilson also claimed a whitewash win over He Guoqiang while Liam Pullen thrashed Aaron Hill 5-1.
Sadly Bob Milkins fell to a 5-2 defeat against Daniel Wells.

I did briefly allow myself to hope yesterday that Big Bob was going to crack it again this week. Ah well.

Jak Jones made a 140 break in the 6th frame, but it was too little, too late.

Fantastic 125 break by Mark Williams in the decider to see off Hawkins!

Lyu Haotian beat Bingham 5-3 to complete the round.

Edit: Quarter final lineup

Lyu Haotian v Mark Williams
Liam Pullen v Daniel Wells
Shaun Murphy v Ding Junhui
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Gary Wilson

Well done Pullen on making a quarter-final (first?) Also Wells making the semis (at least).

Gary Wilson produced an excellent performance to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-2. Meanwhile Shaun Murphy resisted a mini fightback from Ding Junhui to prevail 5-3.

RE: Xi'an Grand Prix
Although I was rooting for Ronnie, I'm kind of glad that Gary won. The winner faces Tubbs on the semi, so the more in-form player had to win and that was Gary by a mile. I saw the 120 break Gary made in the 6th frame, he's striking the ball well and he's on fire!

Tubbs has been a vocal critic of snooker players playing invitational tournaments overseas to boost their income; and yet in his true hypocritical style, Tubbs is pulling out all the stops to be in the top 10 by the cutoff of the Riyadh Snooker Masters, so he can get an invitation.
