Don't normally go for films like this, but decide to give this a go because of the massive buzz surrounding it and it's a fantastic very creepy & very gory horror film

Jaws (1975)

Sky Movies are currently showing an almost infinite supply of real classics. I'm really enjoying revisiting these screen gems. I got tired of so many remakes, reboots, rehashes and any other kind of re-shits that you can think of that it gets to the point where you say - f**k it, give me real cinema.

I love this - has always been in my top five movies. It's a simple enough premise but it's the suspense, the tension and the impeccable storytelling from both director and cast, not to mention one of the most recognisable theme tunes in screen history, that deliver a genuine piece of cinema gold.

Police chief Roy Scheider, oceanographer Richard Dreyfuss and awe-inspiring sea captain Robert Shaw are tasked with defeating a killer shark that's terrorizing an island community. After a long time of not seeing it you forget how many genuine "jump-scare" moments this movie contains. It really works because the production crew work hard with the technology of the time to make a powerful, nerve wracking and satisfying thriller without much of the bangs, crashes and cheesy puns of modern cinema offerings.

I can just sit back and enjoy this rustic masterpiece every time. 8/10

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning
Is this the last we'll see of Ethan Hunt, the jury is still out on that one, plus how long can Tom Cruise keep doing these movies? Don't get me wrong he's impressive as ever in this, but they are very physically demanding movies....

So to the movie - I found this to be a slow going movie, but quite enjoyable for the most part, it does take a while to get into gear and it is quite gripping in places - The underwater scene is very edge of your pants stuff and there are largely some pretty good action moments in this....was this the best Mission Impossible movie to date? I'm unsure.

it was great to see Pom Klementieff and Hayley Atwell reprise their roles. I would watch this again and I do love these movies, the stunts are great and it is a good popcorn movie.

Tom Ellis (Lucifer) and Pierce Brosnan (James Bond) made my day by supporting West Ham in the film.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

Weapons (2025)

A very eerie and quite a chilling movie but one that had me gripped. It's told through the point of view of the main cast and the film starts with the aftermath of what has happened - This movie does have a satisfying amount of tension and atmosphere, the score/music when things begin to get scary adds to the fear and builds up the tension even more. It's one of those movies that I like, no action, just purely character driven.

The ending is quite shocking and although I felt some questions were left unanswered, this was still a quality movie - Overall a great watch, truly gripping and one that I'd watch again for sure. 9/10
