Liam Dawson has been called up as a replacement For Shoaib Bashir who is out with a fractured finger.

Dawson is a solid bowler pick plus he can bat too so that might be in the selection thinking.

England confirmed yesterday that Dawson would replace Bashir. India make 3 chances, at No.3 Nair is out after 2 Tests with Sudharsan returning after playing at Headingley. Both Reddy & Akash Deep are unfit, Thakur returns to the side & Anshul Kamboj makes his International debut.

It looks like we will see the first drawn Test of the series. The Manchester weather will help with heavy showers expected around the 11am start time which should fade out into the afternoon with some play possible.
Not much assistance from the pitch other than some variable bounce at time, but generally good to bat on, fairly lifeless with very little swing or seam movement aside from the new ball. The odd ball spinning, mainly out of the rough.
England were hampered by Stokes reluctance to bowl yesterday, the rest of the seam attack looked tired with Dawson ineffective on a benign pitch.
A draw isn't the worst result with England 2-1 up, but with a 300+ lead they would've had designs on forcing a win & wrapping the series up.
Still great to see Stokes complete his century yesterday, hope there is no serious injury concerns.
