Late Night w/Seth Meyers
Nicole Scherzinger was sadly pushing a reality judging show she made with the late Liam Payne, whilst Jack McBrayer has a recognisable face. Later, Timothy Olyphant was pretty whimsical, whilst Emily Ratjakowski had whimsical child stories to relate.

6.9 Cowley to Hunton Bridge
He has troubled with his pump, visits a chandlery shop and Terry Scott's old house, and such top locations as Uxbridge, Harefield and Rickmansworth. He also meets a lady on a fuel boat in a lock - sadly a caption at the end suggests she must have died since filming. Only in her 40s too Sad
CBD
6.10 Hunton Bridge to Aylesbury
Also checking out Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and more. His seasonal riffs on Christmas are slightly muted when he has to spend 3 weeks waiting for some repairs to a lock gate.

But overall, a charming and maybe smoother series than some before. I don't doubt Series 7 will turn up in 2026, if we're all spared.

The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
A serious chat to LA Times co-owner and cancer researcher Dr Patrick Soon-Shiong, but by then he'd done a part-gospel song about Trump, and ruefully admitted he might well be following Colbert out of (a different) door.

Jay McInerney presented this 2013 effort on the life of the American author, often through the use of his correspondence. Frustratingly, it only covers his life, so having said that the Great Gatsby for instance was a bit of a flop, leaves unsaid how things turned around if he died a relative failure.
Omnibus - The Great Gatsby: Midnight in Manhattan
From 2000, marking the book's 75th anniversary, therefore cheaper than doing something new for the centenary. Hunter S Thompson himself among the contributors, amusingly in a discussion on comparing the turn of the millennium with the "jazz age" and almost rubbing his hands with glee for when it would all crash.

Timeshift: Antarctica - Of Ice and Men
An impressive story. When Cook first visited, he saw glaciers but nobody had coined the term yet, so he had to call them "rivers of ice" instead. Ranulf Fiennes was present but didn't wave his hands around.

The Bottom Line
Steve Clemons is hectored at by ex-ambassador Arikana Chihombori-Quao who has a low opinion of Trump playing African power games, then talks to Jameel Jaffer about the US ignoring First Amendment rights to free speech when it wants to lock up people it doesn't like.

One manga legend talks to another, in this case Chiba Tetsuya, in his 80s, filmed at work, and then watching & discussing it with his younger friend, despite covid restrictions. Surprisingly fascinating, and showed the process in such a way that it made more sense than it usually does. Still extraordinarily intensive, though. (I worried it was repeated as he was dead, but he's still 86 it seems).
M etc
Naoki meets Iwamoto Nao this time, who does Shojo Manga apparently. In a curious take on face covering, she is filmed with a cartoon face covering her own at all times, whether working in studio or talking with Naoki. The artwork process is again fascinating.
