Jimmy White beat Judd Trump 4-2, thus promoting this Leicester-based event more than anyone else has.

He duly got tonked 4-1 by the fearsome, er, Pang Junxu in the next round, but sounded bullish on his chances of reaching the main stages of the World Championships.

Trouble from Jimmy's point of view is that the qualifiers for the Crucible are a minefield of horrible opponents.
If he makes it to Sheffield absolutely fair play to him .
