Good film plenty action and decent story, Evans is good at his part - fun and menacing

The 5th solo film in the Predator franchise is out on Disney+ today and it's one for the best films in the Predator franchise with only the classic 1987 Predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger better.

It's set in 1719, nearly 300 years before Predator. It focuses on Naru a young female Comanche Indian as her Comanche tribe is hunted by a Predator. It's very violent, bloody & gory with plenty of references to previous Predator films including a direct tie in to Predator 2

Amber Midthunder is outstanding as Naru in her debut Hollywood role

Prey (2022)

Totally agree with Rammy on this movie - I was honestly preparing myself for the worst with this movie (even though the trailer looked awesome), considering the lacklustre sequels (albeit Predator 2 was really good imo) but the follow up's within the Predator franchise have been, to say bodly - utter shit, apart from a couple of good scenes within them but overall they were crap.

This film takes a whole new spin and as Rammy mentioned is set in 1719 and it takes a totally different angle from the follow up's after Predator 2, imo.

Amber Midthunder is absolutely brilliant and although the film is centered on her character, she pulls it off and is excellent in this.

That being said, after the first 30 mins, I thought to myself, Here we go again, all hipe to a new Predator movie and it's going to end up being a complete disappointment because of how slow the story was going, but I was wrong, it soon picks up and jumps into life and I was glued to the screen throughout The first 30 mins introduces us to the timeline, character build ups and slight nuances of something unexplained, that Amber Midthunder's character senses.

Granted no Predator movie will be as good as the original (which is an all time classic imo ), but this movie is definitely worth a look and it's way better than anything that came after Predator 2 imo

Well that was pretty fucking cool, Amber Midthunder deserves all the praise she's received.
Definitely worth watching, much better than most if not all of the others.

For me Predator 2 was almost as good as the first that puts Prey in at number three. It wisely didn't even try to replicate the original once Arnie wasn't available, and went it's own way in sarcastic tone of an urban concrete jungle. BUT the alien was still as consistent as the first, setting up and clearing away the unworthy prey for it's prime prey Danny Glover.

And it introduced the lore of the Predators hunting history and other worlds, including the big link to Prey.

Prey was an unexpected pleasure. probably the true sequel/prequel to the first two.
