Witness: The Apollo of Gaza
How a 3rd century BC statue was found in the sea in 2013, but disappeared soon after. Was it too precious to be true? Was it dug up elsewhere and dumped in the sea? Nobody was sure.

SKY DOCUMENTARIES
SIC Simoncelli Prince of MotoGP
Outstanding two hours cronicling the life and career of one of the best up and coming bike racing talents of any era! From his start on mini moto bikes (still almost too big for them) through to that fatal day when - in pursuit of the world title - he lost his life in a crash I never want to see again (ten years ago - can you believe that??...no me neither).

On the face of it, a rather brash self - confident guy, Marco showed the kind of uncertainty of mere mortals when things didn't go so well, and he doubted himself - after he initially pinned the blame on the bikes performance - to the point he almost quit.

Also provided a smile while recounting (along with the girl herself - typically italian woman if you know what I mean) how he pursued someone who became his girlfriend, and claimed he had 'gone there' on a beach, until she shut it down!!laugh

The most emotionally charged moment came at the start of the programme when someone (clearly playing the role of Sic) walked into an empty warehouse to be confronted by Marco's leathers, gloves. boots and helmet suspended from the roof. It left me shaken for sure, and I couldn't make my mind up about whether it was a fitting tribute or something a great deal cheaper. On reflection, it was clearly signed off on by his family, so ok with me!

In a world of TV where the same programmes are too often repeated, in contrast, this is certainly worth more views.

Concentrates on old Edwardian houses and similar dwellings from the period!! Not my kind of design aesthetic, but I was fascinated in his insistence upon using old school 'technical drawing' methods of creating first impressions for clients instead of CAD/CGI. To see someone utilise the ruler/set square approach was quite cathartic in a way, when set against the 'cold' mechanical use of a computer.
Caught up with this. I didn't find it as compelling as some of the others, maybe because there wasn't a central big project to point to. No matter how interesting his classicist stance, the frequent inference that these were all private buildings you couldn't enjoy for yourself seemed a bit of a swizz.

He's got a chip on his shoulder, has Brendan's brother.
OC w SJ - Javier Bardem
He'd recently made a film in which he played Pablo Escobar. He spoke about how he was drawn to acting, how he had a severe assault requiring major facial reconstruction, how he knew Penelope Cruz for so long, how much he liked Sam's show, and so on.

The Listening Post
Will the Phillippines really elect a President with the nickname "Bong-bong"? And what does Taiwanese satire look (and sound) like?

Chris takes a selfie stick along the river Itchen to Winchester Cathedral, relating good and bad times from his life. Very moving stuff about his father, who was alive when he shot the film but would appear to have died since.
Paul Merson - A Walk Through My Life
It's selfie stick time again, as Paul plods and slips across the North Yorkshire Moors, and reminisces about sad times in his life, and how he's in a better place these days. Good for him.

It'll Be Alright on the Night
Gaffes from Boris Johnson, Joe Biden and Scott Morrison. Blimey, don't take all night.
