What TV show did you last watch?

What a three hours, spent in the presence of unqualified genius!! (no Liverpool/Utd either)

On the one hand, an appreciation of the life and works of an artist whose skill and vision (DAVID, PIETA etc) were unparalleled at the time (and since). The creation of the two sculptures listed (and more) together with the infamous Cistine Chapel wall and ceiling paintings, beyond mere words of acknowledgment and appreciation.

On the other hand, an hour long chronology of the discovery and selling - $1175 (can you believe it) at the time - then spectacular purchase (remember it like it was yesterday - $450 000 000) and the susequent disappearance. The one dissenting voice (not even a good painting ) was thankfully drowned out by the sane voices of the majority who studied/examined it! A little disconcerting that it went to MBS in Saudi Arabia with his unwillingness to respect human rights.

I tend to agree with the view that this painting by the 'The Man' (in fact all renowned paintings) should be available to view and be appreciated by everyone, rather than reside - in this instance - in a vault at what is known as 'no mans land' for the purpose of reducing tax due.

That monument to the holocaust is a fantastic example of innovative architecture which, whilst being so modern - fits perfectly within its environment/landscape. The way the star of david was incorporated looked great! In actual fact, apparently the glass panels are not meant to be the star of david??. Just goes to show what interpretation does. Maybe a happy accident as so often in art in all its forms! That was the saying from the great bob ross quote ' we don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents' Not sure that is always the case, but I get what he meant!
