After a nightmare first session and half leach and Mahmood are doing there damest to ware out the west indies bowling attack

From 114-9 Leach 41 not our from (141) & Mahmood 49 from (118) balls, added 90 runs for the 10th wicket. Mahmood come within 2 balls of playing out the day, as West Indies were forced to bowl their slow bowlers as the light faded. At one point 2 part timers were in operation, this was not the time to wait for the 2nd new ball. West Indies bowled with discipline as England were 67-7, until Woakes & Overton started the recovery before the last pair batted 36 overs, with some sloppy fielding, including dropped catches.

Mahmood's top score of 49 makes him only the second #11 batter to top score for England in a test match, the other being Steve Harmison with 42 against South Africa in 2005.
