Polls say the majority of Americans blame Trump for the shutdown. As long as that holds true the Dems don't need to do anything.

And there will be millions more losing their pay who won't be receive back pay once this is all over. Government contractors won't be able to work and suppliers won't be doing business.
Thousands of businesses could go bust.

the house passed a bill the other day saying all pay will be back dated and they will all recieve what they are owed

That only applies to the federal employees.

What's the latest on Pence's position? and surely now they realise impeachment is the only way to get Trump out of the White House? Or failing annul the last election result and re run it?

I see Trump has cancelled a foreign trip Pelosi was due to make (whilst he’s still sending people to Davos). The trip included war zones so will have been secret anyway and I doubt that she will care - she’ll just note that deferring the State of the Union address is hurting him.
