What Jeremy Corbyn stands for and his approach to politics is commendable and 'nice', but that isnt how the world works unfortunately. He might appeal to flower-power do gooders and pot smoking students, but the European referendum result delivered a much different message that struck something home to the Labour party.
I think that's his biggest problem.

According to Sky News the MPs pick the final two and they go to the membership, seems to be a change from when Cameron was elected, we could have a situation where we have May vs Boris, the remainer who wanted to leave vs the leaver who wanted to remain.

May's announcement of her leadership bid had her introduced by Chris Grayling, on the face of it the leaver endorsing the remainer

She also said that despite campaigning most of her political career to pull UK out of European Court of Human rights that she does not believe it would pass Parliament and will not even pursue it. She also talked about controls on freedom of movement never said total withdrawal

Add that to the fact that since the vote Boris has been pretty much building the case for Remain it seems very clear that the Leavers are not going to get anywhere close to what they voted for. Why because the party that is negotiating our release is the party of free market principles and knows that the single market the world's strongest economy in GDP, ahead of US and China, is a free market wet dream and the Tories will never put anything else ahead of money. This was and always will be a Tory Brexit and they will not turn their back on the single market which means accepting free movement.

The Australian style points system might as well have been carved into The Ed Stone it was never on the cards and in two years time our position on immigration will be closer to a full Schengen than the Ozzie model.

We will abide by all the rules but have none of the say as we have left the parliament, it's not want you wanted to happen, trouble is the exit is in the hands of the Tories so it is what will happen.

This is excellent news. Delighted Boris realises he can't win. All that lying has got him nowhere. Now the stop Gove camp needs to kick in. He's too close to Murdoch and he's just knifed Boris in the back. Unlikely to get a teacher in the UK ever to vote for him either.

Yes SecretAgent is right. The reason Boris has decided not to stand is because he knows he's not going to win. Some of his supporters had already gone over to Gove. That Daily Telegraph article was a big mistake it seems, as it left others feeling he wasn't up to the job.

Whoever DOES win who have nerves of steel and and brilliant negotiating brain to not only invoke Article 50 and also to push Brexit through to get us out within two years. If Mrs Merkel loses and Ms Le Pen wins their respective elections next year that path to independent of Europe may either become trickier or easier depending on which way you look at it.

as for Boris I think he will realise in the coming days that he will never be as popular again as many people will have hoped. If Gove wins I don't think our Brexit chances will be any better as they probably could have been with either Boris or Dodgy Dave. I don't think Farage should be anywhere NEAR the negotiating process but If Gove takes a few babe channels babes with him for a charm offensive he might be able to pull something fantastic!!

If the parties get their acts together and there is General Election before End of the year forget we need them to be honest and open in their manifestos about how they will handle Brexit as much as possible and not drag up any facts that made the whole referendum look like a spoilt rich kid's tea party. If anything what we want are the full true facts that we didn't know before, laid bare.
