Porn Filters

Well lets just say that it's not the definitive answer, it may work in some cases but I can assure you that 3 times I've had to phone BT to send a signal to my router.

Well seeing as the name of this Thread is called Porn Filters and not talk talk I would have thought my posts would have had some relevance to the subject.

It was made clear in munch's post that he's using Talktalk.

He's on Talktalk, so it's therefore Talktalk that we're discussing. My answer to him is correct and I tried it beforehand to make sure I was giving him the correct information.

Yes, that's how Homesafe works, but this is not Homesafe itself as such, but something on their end is clearly blocking the page from loading. Like I said, it's not the first time I've seen it, just never really thought much of it before, but it now makes me wonder if they are playing with something behind the scenes. There has been talk of extending site blocking of adult sites and suchlike, I just wonder if they are pre-empting this by putting something in place already.
Anyhow, all working again now. If I notice it again, I'll try a few other adult sites see if they are affected as well, either that or I'll go fetch my tin foil hat and head for the hills

I'm a Talktalk user and I haven't noticed anything different recently, although I've heard they do trial things without telling anyone.

If you have a similar problem in the future you should try a traceroute / tracert to see where the blockage is occuring.

^^ According to my understanding of the rules that were passed, that article is complete and utter bullshit. The ruling is nothing at all to do with porn filters, just a typical scare-mongering headline from the Mail.

Good ole boy Murdoch is pressing on with turning on the filters by default from January however - alongside other dubious tatics aimed at raising the figures arbitrarily and licking the government's ass.
