Wow Cracking Game back and forth with breaks however this goes Watson can be proud giving No1 a good match

Serena now goes on to play her sister Venus.

Serena rarely loses long three set matches.
But Watson pushed her hard.
I suspect it will be the tough match the American needed to make her even tougher to beat going forward.
Tough on the Brit but that's why Williams is a multiple grand slam champion. The calendar slam is still on.

Unlucky pet. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. What a great effort though.

Got to be honest I thought it was all about Serena.
When Serena executed her shots she won the point when she misconnected the ball went out or hit the net. I thought Heather was a glorified spectator watching Serena playing against herself so to speak. For Watson to really challenge the best she will have to increase the power of her serves and ground strokes. Otherwise she wil have to rely on captilising on her opponents mistakes.

I think Watson deserves to be in at least the top 30 by end of year or maybe top 25
