RE: Elite TV/Studio 66 - General Chat & Discussion
Just to clarify from my angle on things in relation to the rules; please do not think for one second that I totally blame some of the tame-arsed shows we see these days on Ofcom. I think we all know that some of the stations (especially this one & Xpanded) come no where near close to the level they should - even by today's lame standards.
All we can ask is they stretch the limits to the maximum, but even that for me isn't nearly enough. This still leaves us with zero interaction between the girls whatsoever and no chemistry, that's the killer for me. Seeing two girls on set actually having fun and 'getting it on' was so sexy and I miss those times the most.
It's almost painful to see two girls on set just doing their own thing without the slightest hint of interaction whatsoever.
So without rambling on much further, I think the channels need to make sure they maximise their current output to give themselves the best fighting chance in these hard times. But in the long run, if you ask me, even that won't be enough to make a real impact against their internet rivals without some leeway - it's just too tame and the gap is too great.
So I stick to my 'big picture' argument that we need regulation change regardless.

All just my opinion of course.

And the idea that S66 is consistently on a financial knife edge seems to be a simple explanation to so many questions. The slavish conformity to Ofcom rules, the daybabes-at-night phenomenon, the exodus of bigger hitters, the lack of sets, ridiculous breaches, etc... The money issue speaks to all of it.

I was the one who posted that. Thanks for the support!

I think those who refuse to believe what you and I are saying are living in some sort of dreamworld.

Having said that though, I'm not as pessimistic as you. I think babe channels can still survive.

Look at it this way - anyone can go online and access porn or explicit webcams right now, but that doesn't mean fully clothed girls on the babe channels aren't viable at this moment too. I just checked the channels now and Studio 66 alone has 3 girls on. What I'm saying is that I think there'll always be SOME market for the babeshow format.

Most of us don't, but some people here do want that.

That's the point - which you're saying you agree with.

I'm not deliberately being awkward here Admiral, but you seem rather contradictive. Just a few pages ago you post a rather well written post describing Babestations current state of doom & gloom, with implications that other channel's are seemingly struggling too.
Now you're almost implying that everything is OK and there's nothing to worry about Huh

From what you've previously posted (assuming you are correct - which I do) I'd say there's much to worry about.

Everything's OK?? There's nothing to worry about??

Are you a heavy drugs user? eek

The fact that I think there'll always be SOME market for the babe show format hardly indicates that everything's OK.

Right now the channels are battling for their survival. Unlike goodfella I'm not predicting that they are going to fold completely. As I've said twice already, I think there'll always be SOME market for the babe show format, but it will be nothing like the babe shows were in their heyday.

My prediction that the babe show format will manage to survive in some way or other hardly makes everything OK. Right now every channel is in a battle for survival. There's much to worry about.

I'm with the admiral all the way.

Things may be dire, as he has outlined himself, but I don't think the complete disappearance of the channels is inevitable.

Yes your right, Babestation can just keep selling properties etc and lose millions each year.
Sounds like a really bright future to me Huh

I don't take hard drugs, but I now know where to go looking should I need any Admiral Wink

Edit: Also, to say there will always be a market for the babe channels isn't really the point is it. There will always be a level of revenue to be had, but that market has to be of a standard to make the business viable doesn't it? Isn't that the point? The market is declining.

I'm also in agreement with admiral. No matter how bad things are it doesn't necessarily follow that babeshows will eventually cease to exist. Although in the future there could well be significantly less channels than there are now. As admiral says I can see there always being SOME demand for the format.

I think this comment by winsaw is the best example ever of wishful thinking. Or perhaps a better word would be fantasy.

Let's take 5 examples that I know of.

Case A.
A representative of one babe channel freely TOLD ME that he had reported Bang Babes to Ofcom over the 'lollipopgate' incident (he suspected other channels had done so too, but had no evidence of that). He wasn't from Studio 66.

Case B.
A representative of one babe channel freely TOLD ME that he had reported Bluebird to Ofcom over certain incidents when they very first started broadcasting and had submitted supporting screencaps. He wasn't from Studio 66.

Case C.
When Red Light began broadcasting they were immediately targeted by a plethora of complaints which they quickly realised came from another babe channel. The channel responsible wasn't Studio 66 and Red Light never thought that it was.

Case D.
Several people who have worked at one babe channel have openly said that a certain person there went through this forum once a week collecting evidence of wrongdoing which he sent to Ofcom. The channel wasn't Studio 66.

Case E.
BabestationX was forced off the air in July 2013 as direct result of a complaint from a rival channel. They managed to resume broadcasting 4 months later. Cellcast know which channel was responsible and it wasn't Studio 66.

I will add the babe channels responsible for submitting the 5 complaints above were 5 different channels.

There may well be some residual demand for the format, but if it doesn't make business sense to provide it then the channels will cease. There are now only two operators left (Storm and S66) who have babe channels as their core business, so that must say something. The other operators have different core businesses and run babe channels as ancillary operations.

Cellcast (Babestation channels): Cellcast are not purely a babe channel operator and are in fact an international telecoms tech company. They run babe channels (also astrology and psychic channels) as a testbed for their systems and to generate cash. Admiral Becker is wrong when he conflates Cellcast's poor figures with Babestation. As Hannah's Pet regularly reminds him (only to be ignored), these losses are for the group as a whole, and we don't know how much of this is down to Babestation.

However, I do agree that the demand is falling and all babe channels are in trouble. If the TV babe channels no longer provide the cash Cellcast needs I'm sure they will drop them and run web-based channels of some sort instead.

Playboy: We all know what Playboy does and should their RLC channels become permanently unprofitable they will be dropped. They already dropped one channel last year and are no longer involved in producing their own content, sub-contracting to Red Light in Bristol.

Xpanded: Their TV channels have only ever been a shop window for their web and phone content, which is why they make no effort whatsoever regarding sets or picture quality. When the shop window becomes unprofitable it will be closed.

Television X: They got out of the babe channel game some time ago. I think they still hold some licences but they don't do anything with them as far as I know.

I believe that pretty soon (within five years) TV broadcast babe channels will cease and the web and cam sites will take over. I don't think this is such a bleak outlook however. All TVs are becoming 'smart' and web-connected, so the issue of having to use PCs to view content won't apply.

The net already offers a range of services, including live interaction with models, so people who call babe channels now will still have similar services available. These will continue to develop in what will be a new world of interactive TV, rather than the dying world of broadcast babe channels.
