Just heard Paolo Di Canio sackin while watchin MOTD 2 last night, I know he wasn't everybody cup of tea for the Sunderland job , but with only 5 games to the start of the new PL season, surely he should have been given more time to change things around

i don't thing he was sacked based on results, its 5 games into the season FFS, it was cos of his crazy personality, the board got fed up and would rather have a yes man in charge with the charisma of a plank of wood, di canio was finding the job tough but who knows weather he would have turned things around

Sunderland,s problem will be finding a decent manager who is prepared to take the on the job, after their next three premier league games Liverpool, Man Utd and then Swansea away, they could easily find themselves with only 1 point from their first 8 games. Whoever goes in is going to have his work cut out just trying to keep them up.

Of course he was sacked for results, 13 games, 2 wins, 1 point this season.... They would not of sacked him if he'd been winning games...

it was 3 wins from 13 actually, some sunderland players didn't like him and complained to the sunderland CEO about his management style i guarantee if he had a "normal" personality and the players and fans liked him they would have given him a bit longer, why has chris houghton at norwich not been sacked yet they only have 4 points this season and are 18th, and last season they had a bad run when they only won 1 game in 15, perhaps its cos he is just a normal bloke who won't open his mouth and cause controversy and said all the right things when they went on that bad run, personally i liked di canio's character and enjoyed listening to his interviews, but what i like doesn't matter, they got rid of him cos its what they thought was best for sunderland football club

why didn't chelsea give benitez the job permanently, he won lots of games and won the europa league for them, its cos the fans didn't like him, not cos they were having poor results, managers aren't always sacked based on results, they usually are but not always,
