I would think the problem with only being on cam is that it's more difficult to grow your fan base. Compared to a platform like AW, even the (specialised) 900 channels reach a very large audience, allowing a presenter to gain new fans.

In these tough economic times, camming is expensive for most people - you'd need to be a "hardcore" fan to pay for cam sessions on a regular basis.

I hope Charley does well, but I'm not convinced she'll be able to make enough money just working on AW.

BTW, I wasn't convinced she'd just decided to give up the babe channels. I have a feeling there might have been a bust-up of some kind with CG.

well the difference between cam and tv is that doesnt cost them to travel there and they can choose there own hours. daytime girls are on about £20-40 an hour (well thats on one channel guessing will be the same for the rest) thats about 2 cams an hour. so guessing she only needs 10 hard core fans a day and shes made up what shes made at the studios but in the privacy of her own home. you see a lot of the girls on adultwork now and the 1's i cam are usally busy so cant be that bad

They might not earn as much as you think.

I use to talk on yahoo messanger to a Russian cam woman, no cam involved just the msg.

This was 2006 and they charged 1.50 a min, can't remember if that was dollers or pounds, anyway, she recieved 35p/c of that ONLY when she got a call. That is she got a percentage of the actually calls. I use to watch her has her head moved from screen to screen, look to be on 4 of them.

Most of the time there were no callers and she was there all night, and trying to do a job in the day poor girl was run into the ground. Luckily she got a good job I think working for the government and was able to leave.

Course I burnt my bridges with her when she came back from a SEVENTY minute session. I asked it if was a nude one she said no just talk, I goes, blimey I talk to you longer than that for nothing Course never heard from her again, I genuinly liked her as well, wonder what she's doing now.

Sure she could manage that on a good day - but 10 (different) hard-core fans every day... I wonder?

I suppose it's pretty logical, if cams where SO lucrative and the people watching them were very happy with the poor quaity image then Sky channels wouldn't exist becasue all the models would be doing caming from the comfort of their own homes.

Only thing cam might offer over one of the free channels is harder content.
