The Man With The Golden Gun, a classic Roger Moore Bond film, some interesting facts about the film car crossing the bridge was done on one take and The title actor (Christopher Lee) and James Bond's creator (Ian Flemming) are cousins. This was unknown to the producers at the time Lee was cast. 8/10.

Straw Dogs (2011) - Straw Dogs (Original)

Ok,I watched the remake in the wee early hours and thought 'That was alright' but knowing it was a remake,I was curious about the original,so I netflixed it.
Having now watched both films,I must say,the remake was an "Absolute Travesty" it ripped the heart out off the original, taking the premis of the original, moving it to states and losing all the drama & intensity of it's predecessor.
On It's own Straw Dogs (2011) is ok,as a remake,it is a joke.
I recommend the original over the remake any day of the week, just for Dustin Hoffman & Susan George's performances Exellent.

Remake 6.5/10 Original 9/10

Skyfall, Finally a return to form for Bond the disappoint that was Quantum Of Solace, Great acting by all the actors, funny one liners and great action and finally nasty bond Villain. There is was even a nod to past Bond films like Goldfinger and Goldeneye and a couple others. The only couple things i didn't like was the first part of film went on a tiny bit too long and the climax at the end of the film and how it panned out was a little predictable, the Bond theme was a lot better then the last bond film but wasn't feeling it as much as the classic Bond themes of the past. Great ending tho with setting up the future Bond films and great way of showing casing the 50th year of Bond and the extra bonus saw it for free Big Grin. 9.9/10

John Carter 7/10. Much better than I thought it would be...'Virginia' lol.
Tower Heist 8/10. Easy to watch and pretty funny, worth a look.

The Spy Who Loved Me, one my fav Roger Moore Bond films what can i say about this film, the car, Agent XXX, Jaws and the opening sequence with the skiing and the parachute with the union jack and theme by Carly Simon "Nobody Does It Better" classic Bond. Some Bond facts The closing credits say, "James Bond will return in For Your Eyes Only" but, because of the successes of Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Moonraker was chosen, In the gun barrel at the start of the film it's the first time that Bond wears a tuxedo during the sequence. The Carl Stromberg character in this film actually has webbed hands, however, they often go unnoticed by viewers on video and DVD compared to when the movie was released in cinemas - a bigger image on a theatre screen makes them more noticeable, 9/10.

Skyfall 9/10 - after the disappointment of Quantum of Solace this is a superb return to form for cinemas number one franchise. Exciting, witty and a really creepy looking Javier Bardem as the main baddie.

My favourite film of the year so far.

Taken 2 7/10 - decent sequel but lacks the tension and excitement of the original, probably due to it,s 12A rating.
