Modern football arguably lost it's soul long before Roman Abramovich and Sheikh Mansour. Owners were scamming money long before then and players received very little compared to what they earn these days.

The world of football is about money, investing in players who can take you to the promise land. The players now demand an extortionate pay packet because their agent says so, and because they've realised just how much they're worth.

If $ky $ports are willing to plough so much money into the Premier Greed then players should take their slice too.

This sadly leads to teams having to lure players to their clubs with money , the prize and glamour of the Premier League means only one thing... MONEY!
It's the fans who have lost out. Many no longer chose to go to football because they can watch it at home, those who still want to go can't, either because demand is to high or simply they can't afford it.

This spirals down the leagues and is the reason so much debt riddles clubs. The dream, the promise, yet rarely does it deliver.

Global brands, Super sunday, Monday Night football, first team coach, 7 substitutes, goal line technology, 4th officials, EPPP, none of these words were common phrases in football like they are now.

And by the way, people who have said City brought the league... The game against United, the City side was actually less then the United side in transfer fee's

How the fuck has Kieron Dyer earned a new one year contract at QPR, he only played seven minutes of football this season. This guy should only get paid on a pay as you play contract like Owen had at Man United

I'm gonna be honest, I had to read it TWICE before thinking, "Oh he means the guy who takes training & not the big thing with wheels that takes the players to away games"....... Yeah I know, I sound like your girlfriend.

If the attacking player is goal side of the last defender when the ball is played in the opponents half thats off side..... Man points recovered!!!

Looks like the Champions League final was Drogba's last game for Chelsea, what a way to go out in style and score the decisive penalty that won them the Champions League. Good luck to him, where ever he goes

There isn't much left he can do at that club that he hasn't already. Why not leave on a high?!
