I wasn’t at the game but my brother was and he said it was a small section behind him. Obviously Chelsea and Liverpool have had a pretty tasty rivalry over the last few years (good luck in the final btw), and unfortunately I think some fans have been blinded by Liverpool’s association with Hillsborough, and thinking ‘we’ll get one over on them’ by not respecting the minute silence. But really it’s got nothing to do with Liverpool, it’s got nothing to do with football, it’s literally a matter of life and death and it saddens me that there would’ve people at home watching the game whose son, daughter, brother etc. were victims of Hillsborough and had to hear idiots like that.

Gallas and King were terrified of him every time he got the ball. The key to Chelsea getting past Barca is obviously nullifying the attack, but also relying on players like Drogba to turn up and expose the weaknesses in the Barca defence. The weakest link in the Barca side in the back 4, there isn't many players in Spain who play like Drogba, and he can bully that defence if he chooses. to.

Before Luiz (and possibly Cahill) got injured I was actually quietly confident we’d keep a clean sheet against Barca, and we will get chances. We’d do well to look at how Wigan played tonight for a blueprint (basically defend deep and hit with pace on the counter).

Oh and shouldn’t be surprised but exactly how has Juan Mata been ignored for either PFA list? It amazes me how little professional footballers know about football laugh

Chelsea might get a bit of joy down the wings against Barcelona, because Dani Alves on the right hand side and whoever plays left back, probably Adriano will spend more time in the oppositions half of the pitch than their own. That would mean though that Sturridge would have to play in my opinion

Not sure, defensively speaking playing Studge would be suicide. But he could cause so much damage going forward. Wouldn't be surprised if RDM names the same team that faced Spurs (only with Brana coming back from ban)

Now that Wilshire is out of the euros is there going to ba a campaign for scholes to come back ? I'd love to see him back in an England shirt, since he's come back he's been immense for united.

Barca are obviously a much better team than Chelsea, but are always vulnerable on the way to the final. look at the two times they beat United - they put in some pretty poor performances along the way to those finals. Chelsea have a much better chance against them than they would in the final.....but it would still be a shock if they went through.

i hope Barca don't win it because i don't want them to become the first team to retain the Champions League after they stopped United from doing it. bladewave

Desperately sad news and so soon after Muamba. Goes to show how good the PL's preparations for such a suddeen illness are. Apparently the ambulance's access to the stadium was blocked by a police car - almost incredible.

I don't know where you magic pixies came from, but I like your pixie drink!

Well said. Made me sick aswell. My phone didn't stop for about an hour after it. To say it's not gone down well is as mild as i can word it. The "murderers" chant during a minutes silence for the 96 who died at Hillsborough. That's as low as it gets for me. We've heard it from a section of the Chelsea support since the Rafa/Mourinho days. Knew it was Chelsea as soon as i heard it.

unfortunately we know there will always be scum like that, but with all the cameras inside grounds, why not get as many close-ups as they can so these people can be identified and banned? if thousands are doing it, you won't be able to ban them all, but if just 10 people were named and received life bans it would send a message. if people behave like animals they should be treated like animals.
