Put your jaw back in Phoenix that was just an off the cuff comment, you know how it goes.

But I wish that the TV cameras wouldn't put close ups of Mick Macarthy's rants. You don't have to be a lipreader to understand that he's seldom happy with procedings.

goalies are over protected. they have more protection than a condom. a good result for liverpool today 3-1 against man utd, now wolves 3-3 spurs.

arsenal have a game in hand over man utd, man utd as the better goal difference of 3, so when arsenal play their game in hand and score 4 or more goals then will top the league, may 1st will decide where the title will go.
Sorry Bigguy but I have to take you to task on that one! Are you insinuating that the 17 games or so that United and Arsenal will play between now and the end of the season don't count for Premiership points purposes?

Surely you haven't been caught up in one of those newspaper prediction things where they play out the rest of the season by virtually awarding three points for every match played between now and the end of the season? Haven't you noticed that strange result happen virtually every Saturday in the Premiership this season?

I reckon you secretly work for Sky and are trying to hype up May DayWink

Oh and your maths is pretty poor as wellSmile Even if you discounted all the other matches played involving United and Arsenal, Arsenal would only need to win by TWO clear goals to overtake United, not the FOUR you reckon; a two-goal Gunners' win would plus their goal difference by two goals and would also simultaneously minus United's goal difference, thus producing a FOUR goal turn-around.

That's why these games are termed SIX-POINTERS, when one team wins three points they simultaneously take away three possible points from their rivals.

Here endeth the maths lessonWink

lindor, i think he meant arsenal have played one less than utd whose goal difference is +33
arsenal are +30 therefore if arsenal win their game in hand by 4 clear goals they go top.+34.
hard luck today! don't worry to much. this league has a LONG way to go!Smile

I know Bigguy, Nani's such a big baby the way he just lay there and painted that gash onto his leg to pretend he was hurt!

I don't know if Nani's a Liverpool fan but everyone on here knows you are Bigguy - oh, except you of course!

The way you bleat on about wanting fairness in sport etc in one post and then make comments unworthy of Nani's arsehole in the next does you little credit! Even the scousers sat in the front row behind where the Carragher incident took place were seen to be applauding the yellow card in relief!

naaah, you're not worth it; think I'd best go back to wanking over those Foxy caps on The BoudoirTongue

While it was clear Carragher's was a poor tackle, I'm sure all non-Utd fans had the same thoughts when they saw Nani run in front of the ref then fall on his arse. Upon seeing this http://yfrog.com/hs4gz1j I think its safe to say he wasn't faking this time. Carragher was lucky to stay on the pitch, as were Rafael and Maxi. Apparently Carra waited outside the Utd dressing room to apologise , not going to heal the injury but a nice gesture. Thought Dowd was consistent in his decisions at least. Thought the way he handled the brawl after Rafael's tackle, just standing back arms folded, was odd though.

My view on the title is it's still Utd's to lose. Just don't thin Arsenal have the mental strength. If they go out to Barca midweek, I think it'll be tough for them to cope.

Good point mate. Only the current champions can actually lose the title. but the current leader can only lose the chance to win the title from a title winning position and not actually lose the title. At the moment the chance to win the title is in the hands of Man United but only chelsea will actually lose the title at the end of the season.

I pray it's my team arsenal that win the league. but first things first. we have to go do barcelona over

while i take your point i would see it the other way. arsenal have been beaten well by both utd and chelsea this season but have shown the mental strength to come back from this. so while defeat to barca would be hard to take it would mean concentration would be on the league which could prove vital!
or as usual the ARSE! drops out of everythingeek
we shall see!Smile

RE: Football Banter
right egg chasers view now! looking at the shaping of the league as it is now, both arsenal and man utd have been to some very difficult places. i think phoenix made a good point about when chelsea play city next week. if chelsea beat blackpool tonight and then if theres a loser in the chelsea city game i think that team will be out of it. a draw might not be good enough for those teams either in my opinion. and as for that saying "easier run in" looking at it again arsenals does'nt look as easy as i first thought. liverpool at home then spurs away followed by bolton away man utd home and stoke away. some tough games away from home and liverpool and man utd at home. maybe man utds run in is easier than arsenals eh?

have your own opinion, lead dont follow.
