Football Banter

After what happened at Spurs on Sunday I wonder if it is time a that a 30 day rest period should be introduced for players after the spurs goalkeeper was KO'd. I know he insisted on playing on but I think the referee should have stepped in and made it clear to him that he had to leave. I doubt the that the FA will take a dim view but he should have been withdrawn at half time and substituted. I know there was a rule in rugby which was a 7 day rest period for players suffering concussion (which was recently changed I believe.) and he should have listened to the teams' medical staff and AVB should have shown some concern and pulled him off immediately. Football now needs to take a look at this issue and adopt some kind of rest period for an injury like his.

He was injured after halftime though so they could not have subbed him at halftime

Having just watched the Chelsea game again there was no way was that a penalty. If he was supposed to be one of the best referees in Europe how he gave that as a penalty is beyond me. The special one made me annoyed with his comments saying it was a penalty. how the referee thought it was a penalty is beyond when clearly he went to ground too easily. A classic out of the Ashley young guide book to diving!! WBA deserved to win that.

Its funny but at the start of the season I said that Southampton would have a good season and could well be a top ten team at the end of the season. Someone else came in here and took the piss...all I can say about that is so far, so good as far as my prediction goes. Not a Southampton fan but good luck to them.

Adam Lallana is showing the potential he has always had and seems to be controlling matches in the middle of the pitch.
Southampton have a good spine through the team and are doing extremely well.
Fair play to them.

that was a lot better than ashley youngs attempts, atleast ramieres was touuched.
