RE: Football Banter
Di Canio had to go. His senior players had enough of his non-existent man management skills and openly stood up to him. To rule firmly but fairly is admirable in management but when a manager makes bad decisions and openly slags off individuals then he is asking for trouble. It seems odd that he was so dictatorial when, as a player he often threw out his toys over arguments with his various managers

Di canio should have been encouraging the players and giving them confidence but he went and done the opposite, if you consider from the players point of view how much more can they take of him bearing in mind the season finishes in may. The guy thought he was a top top manager and not grateful he was given a opportunity to manage in the premier league and refused to learn from his mistakes

If I owned Sunderland he would have been sacked too, poor signings, bad attitude, nothing too show and wasn't wanted in the first place, Chamions League and FA cup winner Di Matteo or Di Canio?...... I know who i'd be trying to get...

Well if they think Dickanio's career as a manager is finished, what about as a pundit on Match of the Day? Would certainly be a breath of fresh air and stir things up a bitSmile

Gus Poyet is 1/3 to be the next Sunderland Manager. Looks like he is leading the pack for the job as it stands.

Is Gus Poyet allowed to take the job, is the Brighton incident still ongoing?

Good point!

I, personally, have no idea but a lot of newspapers are reporting Poyet as talking to Sunderland now, so i guess he must have the all clear to join another club if he wants to. It would seem that way anyway.
