Michael Palin & the Mystery of Hammershoi
Another art adventure, as Mike goes to Copenhagen to look into the story of a little-known Danish painter.

The Arts Interview: Cate Blanchett
Martha Kearney talks to the Aussie Oscar-winner about her new film The New Boy. Apparently her co-producer husband suggested a key central role for a monk should become a nun, so that his co-producer Aussie wife could then be in it. The first version was to be called Father & Son. Such is film development.

Turkish Tea Talk
Alex Salmond went to (near) the Tower of London to meet Braveheart legend James Cosmo to talk that film, Game of Thrones, and so on.

2.3 Still in the South, they truk around Dorset, have plans changed by Storm Babet, and check out an old school sweetshop.
TBSA
2.4 North to the Scottish Highlands, taking in the Cairngorms and a trippy journey on Loch Ness.

A better series for being more episodic, and then tied to the silly format of last year's one. Hopefully there'll come a 3rd series, assuming John stays fit for it.

Bottom: Exposed
Joyous and at times melancholic tribute to the hit BBC2 sitcom/stage show of the 1990s. Many minor contributors and sleb fans were all giving much love, and Adrian became regretful that Rik's health deteriorated worse than people realise.

Back to 1760 for the start of this story, but otherwise much the same antic about why people built them, padded out with bits on tunnels, aqueducts, legging, and more recently their resurgence through the leisure lark.
Maps of Britain - Railways
How a need was forged in the North of England, how passengers multiplied the success of the lines, how Beeching cut them off at the knees, and in a sadly dated conclusion, how HS2 presents a promising future. Oh well, who needs that in Britain?

The Footage Detectives
Maureen Lipman writes in about a clip with her they showed some weeks back. More impressively, Nigel Plaskitt and Hartley Hare come in to talk Pipkins, how about half the 333 (!?) episodes are still missing, and appearing at one of the many TPTV live weekend events.
