CL football is not the be all. Many teams do not have a realistic chance of playing CL football but there is no harm in dreaming or aspiring to playing at a higher level. After the usual top four, Southampton may well be challenging Everton, Spurs and perhaps one of the other mid table teams for honours this season.

again you dont seem to get what im trying to say Southampton wont get into CL because they do not have the squad to take them there

theres a reason why its almost always the same 4 teams in the CL places and thats because with champions league money helps the clubs in it to have bigger squads so they have more cover and the draw of CL helps attracts players

thats why liverpool would be better off with a ricky lambert or jordan rhodes someone hungry to make a name for themselves rather than some forigner who takes a while to come on or some big time charlie who comes in for a lot of money whose pricetag then unsettles them

Yes but Liverpool already have better players than Lambert, they are rebuilding a squad to achieve CL football not stay in the league... they don't need to spend money on Lambert.... he does not fit the system we play either... would rather see Torres back than Lambert, at 31 lambert would already have a name for himself if he was that good.

We already turned him down when he was younger anyway..
