have you tryed looking at http://portforward.com/ they have that router listed and you may find a fix there.

I doubt portforward would do anything, as its the USB adapter not connecting to the router, surely port forwarding would only help if the computer was connecting to the router but not the internet. As i said, the problem is that when the adapter tried to connect to the router, it says that its authenticatiing, then just drops, as if the router isn't letting it connect.

If anything, it must me to do with the security on the router, i know that XP had issues with WPA2 until service pack 3, but even with that installed it still has issues. Its without a doubt the USB adapter thats the focus of the problem, not the router

fine do what you think is best. just thaught portforward has all the router and wirless configs you could ever want with guides on how to set em up... no skin of my nose.

i wasn't having a go, was just saying i thought that that site was just a guide to tell you how to port forward your router, whereas the problem i have is with the USB adapter, not the router, so i just didn't see how it would help. I have no problem with the router, just the adapter. all that site has is router based stuff.

I've tried various ways of setting up the network, i've gotten quite good at setting up home networks that i can do it with my eyes closed, its just this one problem that seems to be common to XP and W7. Its got to either be a driver issue or its down to the WPA2.

Finally got the PS3, it arrived yesterday afternoon can't believe how big the machine is. I got fifa 09, rainbow six vegas 2, resistance 2 and i got i a legend blu ray. The only couple things i don't like about the PS3 is one it takes ages to bloody update and secondly you can only charge the pad when the machine is on unless you buy a dock, but so far am lovely it.

Wrong choice IMHO but your loss.

I am going to get 1 when they are down to about 150. Im a tight one with notes. Im working my way through assassins creed atm and loving it! People say it's repetitive, but i disagree! Its good fun.

i got a couple more games now, bought half life 2 orange pack, unreal tournament 3 and i have street fighter 4, and ninja gaidon on the way.
