he's got t0 hope that Djokovic's wrist pops if he's going to win!!

The ranking points gain will be good for Edmund.
If he can sustain some decent form in the remainder of the regular season it will really improve his ranking even further.
And he will have an important role to play in the Davis Cup too.

Dan Evans won the first set against Wawrinka but lost the second so it's 1 set all in that match.

Murray's playing the duracell bunny. His Italian opponent just chases everything down.

But Andy finally ground him down and won in 4 sets against Lorenzi

Dan Evans has won the 3rd set on a tie-break to take a 2-1 lead.

Two sets all now.
Wawrinka won a fourth set breaker 10-8.
Missed opportunities for Evans.
Let's hope they don't come back to haunt him.
He has played a quite superb match but just slightly faltered in key moments of that tiebreak.

Wawrinka ran through the final set to win it 6-2 .
Shame .
For a lot of that match Evans played some brilliant tennis.

Dan Evans has finally come of age. He lost, but what an effort. It's long been suggested that he has wasted his talent. Not tonight. I hope this excellent run at the US Open will propel him to utilize that talent even more in the future.

Just watching Nick Kyrgios at the moment.
He makes me laugh .
Such ridiculous natural talent on display one minute and yet such utter wastefulness the next .
Hitting nonchalant winners with almost no discernable effort whatsoever. Then following it up with a needless mistake or a few . He is so unpredictable.
Living proof imo that sport at the highest level is very much between the ears. It is the consistency of application and committment that can make the difference.
For me he loses interest and heart too easily at times and yet at other times he is like a genius.
The Alex Higgins of tennis .

Entertaining but so frustrating .

Edit: In the end however Kyrgios was to suffer heartbreak in his match against Marchenko due to retiring hurt after going 2 sets to 1 down. He was in tears at the change of ends prior to losing the third set and upon a little more treatment at the end of the set came the handshake. A rather sad end.
