the ball boy was loving every minute off it! It's nothing it doesn't matter if hazards boot touched him or not, it wasn't assault lol, it was accidental if anything, the goalkeeper or stewards didn't even blink lol

You are spot on with your comment here. What stands out worringly to me is the fact that a person who had no right whatsoever to become involved, should have such a bearing on the game. He acted in a way that DID have an effect on the match and potentially its outcome. He admitted his intentions as much, on twitter.
I am not condoning Hazards reaction-he should have left it for an official to deal with the situation. If he had done that then the back pages would have been reporting about a dick head twat of a ball boy causing a minor incident. I just hope that other glory-seeking, ignorant fuckwits in the crowd don't try to influence games in a similar fashion around the country.

I think Hazard was maybe a little over the top, but so was the ball boy. I would probably think Swansea will face a fine of some sort. If Hazard is banned, i doubt it will be anything like Cantona's or Suarez's ban, he might get lucky and get away with probably the regulation 3 matches. I hope he gets in the pocket too by Chelsea over-reacting like he did.

What goes around comes around. The kid was basically just doing what he sees week in week out in the Premier League, which is players (like Hazard) acting like they get shot at the slightest bit of contact. Now even the ball boys are doing it...embarrassing reflection of modern football

Well done to Swansea by the way, they deserved to go through over the two legs

Both were in the wrong, Both involved have apologised to each other, it's done the ballboy's had his 5 minutes of fame and will be happy when he's on tv and in papers, Hazard should just be given his 3 match ban, and just move on, there's no need to drag stupid things like this on and on.

Well said Smile

RE: Football Banter
Congratulations to both Swansea and Bradford. The two sides who are in the final both deserved to be there over the two legs, and I'm looking forward to it. FACT. Wink

On Chelsea and Hazard: oh honestly, who gives a damn. Rolleyes The papers and the media drag stuff like this on forever. Hazard's wrong to kick out in close proximity to the kid, the kid's wrong to refuse to give back the ball (after tweeting earlier in the day that he was going to timewaste) Wink . The kid's got his 15 minutes of fame, Hazard will serve his ban, they're both dickheads. They've both apologised. We get that. Nothing more to say, just move on.

On Villa: they look deeply in the mire. Never seen them as poor as this ever. I reckon defeat at Millwall tomorrow or a loss to Newcastle could signal the end of Lambert's managerial reign. We'll see.

The ballboy has been pursued by the media today but has refused to give any interviews.

I've heard a lot of commentators saying the Villa squad lacks leadership on the pitch, but I'm not sure I buy that. They still have some senior players like Agbonlahor who should be showing more authority. Just a few years back, Agbonlahor was being courted by the likes of Arsenal, and was sniffing around the England squad. He chose to stay put at Villa, and in all honesty, it's looking like he took the easy option, stay put, pocket his wages and look pretty good in an average team, rather than move on and seriously challenge himself in a better quality environment. His play this season in particular has looked second rate and lazy. I'd say, for a seasoned pro, only Wright-Phillips at QPR has been as woeful as him this season.
Villa are paying the price for continued lack of investment (until they suddenly find money for over-priced signings like Bent). I still don't understand what possessed Lambert to move there from Norwich, from a team doing well and flying high, to a team going nowhere but down. Unless they sold him on a promise of money to spend, he deserves whatever he gets, whether it's relegation or the sack.

If Villa go down, which they certainly deserve to, it could be a long climb back up.
