The Running Man (2025)

A very entertaining & fun action film based on the book from Stephen King about a man who competes in The Running Man gameshow in order to win the money he needs to get medication for his sick daughter which he gets if he survives 30 days on the run where he's hunted by everyone in the US

Whilst it's not a reboot of or connected in anyway to the classic 80's film of the same name starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, there is a subtle nod to the 80's The Running Man

8/10

Five Nights At Freddy's 2

A very good & entertaining sequel with very good special effects & plenty of scary moments. There is a mid credit scene to set up Five Nights At Freddy's 3

Superman (2025)

Seen this a good while ago, but really enjoyed it. Perfect casting and looking forward to future movies with them with the next one being Man of Tomorrow, really good effects and the film score. Superman actually doing super things, Lex being intelligent, smug and evil, Lois actually acting acting like her comic book counterpart, Mister Terrific, Guy Gardener (Green Lantern), Hawkgirl a great addition to the movie and as for the reveal of Ultraman and the end cameo looking forward to the next DC movie and the future if these characters. The Blu Ray 4K Steel Book is stunning.

Knives Out trilogy.

Binged all three over the past few days — all for the first time.

Finally decided to see what all the fuss was about and glad I did. These films are brilliantly written and well-acted. They all hinge on intricate and tightly crafted whodunnit plots. I especially like that they don’t rely on vital clues that were hidden from the audience. So when the “reveal” eventually comes, you don’t feel cheated.

I enjoyed the first and third more than the second (“Glass Onion”) but I know that many rate number two the highest.

Hats off to Daniel Craig. Within the first 10 minutes of the first film I completely forgot that he was James Bond. Unlike Moore and Brosnan, he has managed to come out of James Bond’s shadow.

Good films and a pleasant holiday diversion.
