28 Years Later

The 3rd film in the 28…. franchise which is an excellent horror film which doesn’t hold back on the gore & violence but is also surprisingly very emotional

The Godfather

Hadn’t seen it in years. Reminded of what a great film this is. Utterly brilliant.

RE: Last film you watched
28 Years Later.

Now then, I absolutely love 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later not so much but I still enjoy a rewatch every now & then, so I was looking forward to this one a lot.

Boy was I disappointed. The first hour is like swimming through treacle mixed with concrete. A bog-standard dad & lad story with Zombies thrown in here & there that could have been a discarded script for an Episode of Fear The Walking Dead. I won't even bother with the ending, it's too stupid for words.

2/10. I'm feeling charitable.

F1: The Movie

An excellent film about a former F1 driver returning to F1 after around a 30yr gap. See it on the biggest screen possible as the F1 racing sequences are amazing

M3gan (2023)

Finally seen this ahead of seeing the sequel (M3gan 2.0) that's out tomorrow & thought it was a brilliant Sci-fi horror about an AI powered robot that will do anything to protect a child called Cady.

M3gan 2.0

Very good sequel to M3gan which is set 2yrs after the events of M3gan. The special effects are amazing & the action sequences are fantastic and very violent

F1 The Movie.

Surprisingly good fun with some decent, if a little bit too Hollywoodish racing sequences... A Formula 1 Car that spins half a dozen times will rattle your teeth out of your mouth, not carry on driving normally laugh

The storyline is utterly preposterous. A driver does not retire through injuries sustained in a crash, then come back 30 years later to save the day at some back of the grid team. Brad Pitt is 61 for god's sake and while he's undoubtedly in great shape, at that age his neck muscles simply would not be capable of a full race distance. This is why old American Drivers go to NASCAR Big Laugh

Now, 1 thing did irk me, although I assume they got approval to use it in the movie and this is the footage of Martin Donnelly's crash at Jerez in 1990. I remember this crash well and it was utterly horrific and given the budget this movie clearly had, you would think they could have come up with something original.

it's a brain out and munch your popcorn movie with a plot recycled from Days of Thunder with a few tweaks.

1 other point. Javier Bardem plays the under pressure Team Boss but in this he's the spitting image of Nick Knowles from DIY SOS Bounce

I'll give it 6 out of 10.
