RE: Snooker
Just as well, Carter clonked him 6-2

Hamilton got to a good 4-1 lead over Bingham, before a tedious protracted 6th frame which he won despite needing an extra half-hour to do so. Seems Bingham came back after that, but Hamilton still came through 6-4 for his 1st big final since 2002.

RE: Snooker
Congratulations to Anthony Hamilton.
Winner of his first major title at the age of 45 in the German Masters.
An inspiring story to match that of Mark King earlier this season.
If at first you don't succeed...........

He recovered from 5-2 down to win 7 out of the next eight frames to beat Ali Carter 9-6.

Very very well done.

RE: Snooker
Yeah, I think any time you win lots of consecutive frames, you deserve to win (Fu did similar against Higgins, Hendry did 10-in-a-row to win a World Championship, ISTR Davis had to win 6 on the spin to beat Ronnie is what was presumably his last title, etc).

I really wanted him to go "Ich Bin Berliner" to the crowd, but never mind. Well done.

RE: Snooker
At least there's been some breathing space, with Carter not in action until tonight, and Hamilton on tomorrow afternoon.

RE: Snooker
Great result for Martin Gould, beating Mark Selby and achieving a career-high break of 142.

Hamilton got whitewashed by Mark Allen, and Ali Carter lost his 2nd round match in the evening.

RE: Snooker
Gould was beaten 4-3 by Joe Perry this afternoon.
Ronnie O'Sullivan was knocked out by an inspired Neil Robertson 4-1 while Mark Allen was ousted 4-3 by Liang Wenbo. Barry Hawkins saw off Judd Trump 4-1.

So to tonight and the start of the quarter finals.

Barry Hawkins has beaten Neil Robertson 4-2.

Liang Wenbo then beat Joe Perry 4-3.

RE: Snooker
I don't really get the idea of making one half of the draw play 2 matches today and then the other half do theirs today; surely making today Quarter-Finals today etc would work more fairly?

Quarter Final results:

Ryan Day 4-2 Shaun Murphy

Marco Fu 4-2 Mark King.

Semi Finals:

In the evening semi final Barry Hawkins produced an excellent display in trouncing Liang Wenbo 6-1 finishing in style with a magnificent century clearance to reach Sundays final.

Tomorrow night sees the other semi final between Marco Fu and Ryan Day.

Bloody Bore-kins! Sad

Kinda hoping Ryan Day finally gets something to smile about with that weird ghostly face of his.

RE: Snooker
He did! Yay! Amazing comeback in the 8th obviously, and a similar close-out in the 10th.
