RE: Football Banter
So Roberto Mancini and Harry Redknapp face a ban from the FA for criticising match officials on Boxing Day but Alex Ferguson won't be punished for confronting Mike Dean and the two other officials against Newcastle...

The FA are a joke, how Ferguson gets away with both incidents, the one after the Swansea game is disgrace, especially as it happened about a month after a linesman was beaten and later died after a lower league match, one of the supposed most high profile and respected managers in football shows the young kids of the world that its ok to round and mouth off at officials?

Players get yellow cards week in week out for showing frustration but Fergie can get right up in their faces and let them have it, but clearly thats ok?!

i dont understand it to be honest with u! im guessing mancini and redknapp criticised officials after the match in an interview is what im guessing where fergie said something during the match which the referee didnt feel like it was worthy of putting in his match report. who knows what he said but the referee didnt think it was much or surely he would have wrote it down in his report and sent it to the f.a.! iv not seen any interview after the match so dunno if he critisiced any1 or not but if he did then u wud think the f.a. wud maybe fine or ban him.

Apparently he was having a go at the linesman claiming cisse was pulling evans' shirt even though the linesman was doing him a favour by flagging the goal offside, then he was in the refs face for over ruling the decision, and the 4th official? Don't know how he upset fergie, maybe he was mad they didn't send evra off for his shocking tackle on Anita, Surley Anita's lucky to be alive after that Wink

It doesn't suprise me no action was taken against him though, he has referees and the FA in his back pocket. I wouldn't be suprised if managers up and down the country next week are all Screaming at the ref, the FA have put themselves in a position now where they cant really punish anybody for it otherwise they would be showing double standards.

i dont get this offside rule still now! i heard that if this goal happened a few years ago then it would hav been offside although the defender was it evans scored itHuh

Yea it's a bit confusing, basically if a player is in an offside position and they interfere with play in anyway they are judged as being offside regardless if they touch the ball or not, the linesmans take on it was Cisse was stood in an offside position and was deemed to be interfering with play.

But the referees take was evans put the ball in his own net before cisse became involved in the play.

The guys on ESPN wreckon the decision was correct, i agree with them too

yeah definately onside cos evans tugging on cisse and ball hits him and goes in Shearer did a great explanation on MOTD

seems to be when they are at old trafford united players and staff think they are untouchable would love to see a new FA rule where if they is really bad abuse of ref by either player or manager they got docked a point that would sort out the attitudes within a couple of weeks

RE: Football Banter
German newspaper Build is reporting that Man United have completed an £18 million deal to bring Robert Lewandoski to Old Trafford in the summer. What an attacking lineup if that's true...just need to sort the defence out now!

Blackburn Rovers on the other hand seem to be in a state of confusion. Favourite to get the job is apparently Kevin McDonald, a former number 2 at Aston Villa. There is also a rumour that a London born Asian coach, Judan Ali may be appointed in a coaching capacity too. Apparently Henning Berg was appointed because it was believed the former player would be a popular choice with fans. However, reports state he was not connecting with his players and had stormed out of the teams Christmas party just a few days ago. Could be relegation issues if they don't sort the management out soon. Would be a shame to see them drop any further down the leagues.

There's also reports that Fergie has completed his takeover of The Football Association. Unconfirmed reports cite Fergie as saying, "We've got the BBC up here so why not The FA"
