What TV show did you last watch?

THE ART OF ARCHITECTURE A new series which started with the designs for the newly built stadia in Qatar! Utterly stunning, each and every one, and the explanations of how the designs were realised - taking account of line - of - sight etc was compelling!

Followed by a documentary on Mark Rothko - SKY ARTS! An artist who started by painting landscapes (rather similar to Cezanne I think) and progressed to becoming arguably the greatest exponent of abstract expressionism. On the face of it, his paintings may seem like simple block paintings of large areas of colour, but as one commentator said 'look closer and you will see the complexities of what he did' - that is right, I think.

I can remember seeing one of Rothko's 'red' colour paintings - and I thought that i was the only one to see this particular 'phenomenon until my niece saw the same thing. His paintings appeared to move in time, so proficient was he in understanding, and bringing to the fore, every gradient and sub gradient (or radial gradient) within a single colour.

Pacing is a problem in this series. After a meandering few episodes it's suddenly goes into a violent mix of Breaking Bad and Westworld. Still quite enjoyable though
