so what if he dived...

A cheat is a cheat, and deliberately and consciously throwing yourself to the ground and appealing for a penalty is cheating, and cheating has no place in any professional sport. It's not like it's a one off, it's consistent, game after game.
What about all those players in Italy that have apparently deliberately thrown games as part of a betting scam, do you say 'so what' to that as well? What about those that take drugs to enhance their performance, 'so what'?

hes still one of the best players in the world

He has the potential to be one of the best, but he isn't there yet, and won't get there until he eliminates things like the diving from his game. At the moment, he is a big fish in a small pond, he looks better than he is because he is surrounded by mediocrity.

its a risk taking anyone on. hopefully any manager will be able to get a decent coach and im sure the strikers will be able to learn from shearer.

mind you QPR could do us a favour and sack mark hughes in the next few weeks he has unfinished business and we havent been the same since man city tempted him away from us

Quote:Almost every player dives

Thats true, but it doesn't make it ok and its cheating. I heard Pulis complain about Suarez diving yesterday and asking for his usual ban for diving. But the thing I always ask myself is that if Pulis or any other manager's own players dived would they come out and condemn their own players and ask for them to be banned. I doubt it thats what really pisses me off.

Quote:so what if he dived... Big deal

What Munch said, he hit the nail on the head.

Quote:hes still one of the best players in the world

No he's not, but like Munch said he has the potential to be one of the best in the world.

Suarez goes to ground way to easy BUT so does alot of other players, look at drogba,ronaldo.. the list could go on for ever but the media seem to be picking on suarez alot. look at bales dive against villa yesterday, how obvious was it but no one mentions that, its all about suarez. Ok Rant over. Wink

Managers complain and moan about opposition players diving yet "didn't see it "when there own do it.yet gladly accept penalties etc, If they wanted to they could stop it by getting together and sorting it out. Will they? will they bollocks.

I think a lot of playerrs would think twice about doing if it became a straight red card offence, that's how I feel about it, or a player of Suarez's cailbre would think twice about doing if his manager dropped him to the reserves for a couple of games, But as far as I'm concerned making it a straight red offence would be more than enough punishment. At the same time a linesmen should make the referee aware of the situation. It is time the FA looked at this more seriously as it is ruining the game. And my team (QPR), we were on the end of a few dodgy decisions last season. and i would say many would think Man Utd players are the worst divers.

The problem with that is, I can think of quite a few occasions where a player's been booked for simulation, but replays showed he didn't dive. That's bad enough, to wrongly accuse a player of cheating, but to punish them and his team [for essentially getting fouled], by sending them off would be a disgrace. If they're gonna introduce a harsher punishment for diving, it HAS to be retrospective. But the FA won't do that, because they're worried about correcting referees' and hurting their feelings Rolleyes

Newcastle have got a sponsorship deal with Wonga.com

Newcastle have attracted criticism for agreeing to be sponsored by a company which charges interest at 4,214 per cent, but at least the stadium won't be renamed 'The Wonga Stadium'.. But the name will be on their shirts..

Newcastle's stadium will be renamed back to 'St James Park'
