There's (at least) two petitions:

Stop the DUP & TORIES forming a Minority Government!

No Confidence in a Conservative and DUP Coalition

The top one's title is slightly inaccurate, though. Rolleyes Then again, the second one is not entirely accurate either. Wink

That's rather an extreme view. I haven't ever voted Labour, but still I thought their campaign was excellent.

I agree Labour ran a good campaign but clearly it was not good enough even though the Conservatives were shooting themselves in the head (to quote a Conservative MP). I doubt Labour will get a poorer Conservative campaign again in the forseeable future so as some Labour politicians are admitting it was a missed opportunity and not the victory some seem to be claiming

Would they by any chance be the exact same ones who've spent 20 months telling everyone how much they hate Corbyn? They know their hopes of getting rid of the guy are fading fast, and with a strong chance of the Tory/DUP disaster collapsing and leading to another election, they need to try wrecking the bandwagon at all costs. They'd cause less trouble if they just did the decent thing and defected to the Tories.

Anyone who doesn't own a major newspaper, a pharmaceutical company or just anyone who doesn't necessarily pine for the messiest divorce possible from the EU can perhaps breathe a sigh of relief that the Conservative Party didn't win an overall majority on Thursday.

But for anyone who would celebrate 'winning' or 'claim victory' of this election would seem to fundamentally misunderstand what a 'hung parliament' means. It means technically nobody won.

As someone who voted Labour for the first time on Thursday, it doesn't exactly feel like defeat either. Probably because from my point of view there were two battles going on during the election. The obvious battle between the Conservatives and Labour, which the Conservatives won by virtue of having won more seats.

Then there's the battle for Labour's soul which has probably been going on since before I was even born. The battle between the current version of Labour which is true to the original values of the party, and the New Labour version of Labour which really was just a Conservative Tribute Act. Diet Tory if you will.

In that battle, Jeremy Corbyn definitely came out on top.

I would be intrigued to know how many of those who didn't vote in the Brexit referendum voted in GE2017 and which way those who didn't vote in the Brexit referendum would have voted had they done so.

After the UK had to put up with the austerity bullshit over the past 7 years, it has given me a great deal of enjoyment watching the Tories not so quietly imploding over the past few days.Big Grin
