Ep 1 “Pilot” Season 1 (Non-Spoiler)

As it’s pretty obvious am a big Superman fan so whether it’s tv’s or movies I have high standards and from what I’ve seen of Pilot I really liked it and excited for the show. It’s very different to usually Superman shows which is a good as you don’t want them being the same and it’s nice to see a different take on the character. All tho I was a massive Smallville fan initially I didn’t like it but it grew on me and rest is history.
The show feels a lot like a movie especially with the cinematic look of the series, the colour gradient and the special effects which look a lot better then usually CW effects it’s really stepped up a gear, it feels and looks like a mixture of Man of Steel, Smallville, the early Superman cartoons, the Chris Reeve Superman and Superman Returns, Tyler Hoechlin has really grown on me as Superman/Clark Kent, as has Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane and the pair have great chemistry together it’s believable.
There is a origin story as such but it’s the way it’s told, with a load of Easter eggs and it’s very emotional a common theme in the Pilot and sometimes heart breaking. I do love the plots there setting up which I hope pay off later in the series, I will say there’s a big difference between this and Supergirl. The show also tackles mental health and doesn’t come across cheesy which is a good thing. The action scenes are well done and are massive upgrade, you have the villain who makes there mark and it’s small reveal of the person is that’s gonna very interesting it is a twist and there a couple twists that happen.
Now the only minor issues I have is with romantic step ups so I hope they don’t follow the usually routine, also making certain characters assholes which sometimes can annoying so hope that doesn’t drag and finally all tho we have a main villain will be seeing new side villains from comics or old ones from Supergirl I hope they get that department right.
Easter eggs there’s one you see right away which I wasn’t expecting all I’ll say is cartoons, there’s a homage to certain Chris Reeve Superman film, along with Superman Returns and Man of Steel so I won’t spoil that. Finally it’s pretty oblivious that what happened in Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover has had a major effect and will continue to fold and consequences of the changes. So far am loving it.

saw the first episode. very good. i'm invested.

^ Same, it was what I was hoping for, so I'll stick with it. I like the twists/differences it has to other Superman shows/films.
