Everyone accepted it as it was to apply to all groups.

So she's done an about turn and isn't going to put up income tax..

Is there anything at all Labour can get right?.Answers on a postage stamp please.They are just going around in circles.Reeves is a lost cause,yet in opposition sounded plausible.Now it comes to the count,nothing.

AFAIAC = (as far as I Am concerned)- I think we have to be realistic here - no government from the time of Cameron (would I be wrong here??) to today has ever stood up in Parliament said to the country "Austerity is over".

This has been described as a manifesto breach (is it though?)

What's she got left now, that would make any significant difference to government income?

VAT increase?

2.5% on VAT would raise around £20 Billion per year. She could sell it as a "temporary" measure then Starmer can sack her after the Budget

I doubt there is anyone in the Labour ranks with enough fiscal knowledge who would want to be the next chancellor.

Starmer may as well hire an outsider to become chancellor (who probably worked at the Bank of England)
