Well now a revolution has taken place in Scotland and if we vote yes on the referendum for independence we will be separate from England and hence no control from Ofcom too. As I stated previously would Scotland waste money on a TV regulator, no chance - we're tight fisted when it comes to spending money, my thoughts - Scotland go Independent so lets start a babe channel up here and as for Ofcom well fuck you we're Scottish we'll show what we like.

Wouldn't autonomy be better than independence as you get to run your own show but still receive the £4bn block grant you receive every year to fund free university education etc.Independence will not allow this and there aint enough North Sea oil to provide the revenues required!!!

You do know were keeping Katy Cole and Amanda dont you?

Supposing Scotland gained independence and set up its own regulator, which country would it most resemble? Germany? Norway? Sweden? Finland?

RE: Ofcom Discussion
I know it's nothing to do with Ofc@m but i've seen it mentioned on this thread. The governments attempt's to censor the internet has met with opposition.

The ISP's say it's the parents responsibility for ensuring their children do not access porn, now where have i seen that before.

Web porn protection plan flops

By David Wooding

May 29, 2011

INTERNET giants are blocking a move that would force them to protect kids from web porn.

Ministers want providers to adapt the system that blocks paedophile sites to cover ALL online porn - and users would have to opt in to see explicit material.

But at a bad-tempered meeting with senior MPs last week five of the six biggest internet providers claim it would be too complicated and REFUSED to take action to shield kids from harmful images.

Only Talk Talk agreed an opt-in system could work.

MPs sent the others - BT, Virgin, BskyB, Orange and O2 - away and ordered them to come back in six months with a workable plan.

Communications Minister Ed Vaizey, who led the meeting, is alarmed at how easily children can access hardcore porn - even by accident. He said: "Parents want to be able to protect their children but they need the tools to do that.

"Child internet safety is an absolute priority for this government."

Three in four homes now have internet access - and eight out of 10 adolescents admit regularly viewing porn online at home.

Tory MP Claire Perry, who's wants a change in the law, said: "We are not just talking topless girls and bare bums. Many hardcore perversions can be found by accident.

"Internet service providers insist parents can use net nanny systems, but unless you click the right boxes they don't provide protection."

Researchers fear exposure to violent pornography can damage kids.

Two young brothers said to have seen porn at home were jailed last year for a sadistic sexual attack on two lads in South Yorkshire.

I've noticed during the (rare) occasions we get 241s these days that the girls won't even lick each other nipples and instead just simulate doing so. Is this yet ANOTHER new Ofcom ruling, or a case of the channels running ever more scared?

In Sunday Times today they were talking about the need to disband Quangos and the savings involved. They actually mentioned that OFCOM the media watchdog would be easy to disband. So maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel:Wink

Really? Quite a few 241s recently. Last night there was even one on 920 at the same time as 921. Im sure I have seen some genuine nipple licking, though not much. Strangely SexStation has a 241 almost all evening and almost no touching.
