^^ I believe those tweets were in response to something Evans said about the 'Top Gear' bit on TFI last week, nothing directly to do with this this, although given that they are all buddies they no doubt knew.

I think they should have one who is either an ex racing driver or current racing driver, if they are going to have a female presenter than someone like suzi perry, Susie wolff (Williams f1 test driver) or Jodie kidd.

I think should do some cheap car challenges which were fun, Clarkson paid £1 for a car also turn his Porsche into furniture.

Evans is a terrible choice.
Over the past few months he's stated that he wasn't in the running, he didn't want the job and the BBC hadn't contacted him about it.

Well they got the Ginger Minority covered need someone black or asian and a women would say georgie thomson or LADY Georgie Ainslie as i saw her on CNN sailing show the other day

Someone who can keep a secret?

He's a better choice than many in the frame, but the bottom line is that the previous line-up WAS the show, and doing the show in an attempted copy of that style but without them will not work.

And there's still the question of the other presenters to get really cross about

With Tiff Needell as the Stig, and maybe they could rename it slightly to break from the past and move forward, maybe call it something like ... Fifth Gear!


I still say that although the show came across as an entertainment show, 3 lads mucking about in cars, underlying that was the fact that Clarkson and May were both motoring journalists. That gave the show real credibility with the car makers, which is why they were queueing up to lend them their latest and greatest cars to test-drive.
I don't see that happening if they go with three 'rent-a-presenter' types.

I also don't see Evans doing the long expeditions abroad given that he has his radio show still to present, so those features could be dropped.

i think they should get jeremy clarkson on the first episode of the new show doing the "star in the reasonably priced car"

ratings would be through the roof
