if there was a better, fairer way to decide a game without a replay, do you not think somebody would've thought of it before now. it's not perfect but is anything? penalties are the best we've got i'm afraid.

Yeah I'm with you on that, penalties are here to stay, there's nothing better as far as I'm concerned, the Istanbul final was crazy & I'd put myself through it all again.

If it weren't for penalties then Chelsea probably wouldn't be European champs as Bayern may have won it if there was another 30min to play, as much as I didn't want them to win it fair play, they held their nerve or whatever players do to win them.

If the Euros go to plan then we'll get beat in the semis by the Germans most likely on penalties, but thats football.
Maybe it's time Fifa found an alternative to Sepp Blatter!!!

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has labelled penalty shoot-outs "a tragedy" and challenged Franz Beckenbauer to come up with an alternative.

Blatter told the FIFA Congress in Budapest: "Football can be a tragedy when you go to penalty kicks. Football should not go to one to one, when it goes to penalty kicks football loses its essence. Perhaps Franz Beckenbauer with his football 2014 group can show us a solution perhaps not today but in the future."

So when a German team wins a shoot-out it's OK but when a British team wins it...............

I didn't see him complaining when Lampard's shot wasn't allowed in the last World Cup.

Did you hear cameron on this morning about those photos of him and merkel watching the game apparently he wanted to work but merkel wanted to watch it she even asked when bayern were looking like winning can we take photos so he agreed and a german photographer with a bayern shirt was taking them " prob thought pics of me gloating over him will make me look good in german media "

pity Doc Who didnt use the torch thing to wear a kean out tshirt mind you be a good story that Dr who and the bullshitter of Venkos lol
