Annabel Creation 7/10 - a prequel of sorts to the conjuring series which explains the origin of the creepy little doll Annabel. A good build up and plenty of jumps make this well worth seeing.

Snatched

Dumped by her boyfriend on the eve of their vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton persuades her cautious mother, Linda, to accompany her on an exotic getaway to South America. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda must soon work through their differences to escape from a wildly outrageous and dangerous jungle adventure.

Decent and funny (and no...I'm not embarrassed) #maybealittle

War For The Planet Of The Apes.

Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both of their species and the future of the planet.

Loved it (Caesar...my character of the year so far)

Shaun Of The Dead(2004) Director Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and host of British comic actors successfully tackle the zombie genre. Its of course funny, but its also inventively shot and edited, occasionally chillingly shot and pretty gory. 7.5/10

The Long Riders(1980) The life and times of the infamous James Younger Gang. A Western chiefly remembered for four sets of acting brothers as the various outlaw brothers, but itsgot a lot of other things going for it, although the film is rather episodic in structure, the script is constantly witty and interesting and the movie covers a lot of bases, the James/Younger rivalry, the hatred of authority especially the North, the unsuccessful detective work of the Pinkerton Agency. The acting is generally good, David Carradine is at his charismatic best as Cole Younger, Pamela Reed very good as his lover Belle Star while Fran Ryan brings a dignity as Jesse James' mother, although James Keach makes a rather forgettable Jesse James. The main set piece the disastrous Northfield raid is exciting and memorable, using plenty of slow motion. Also starring James Remar,Savannah Smith Boucher,Amy Stryker and James Whitmore Jr. 9/10

Baywatch (2017)

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra & Kelly Rohrbach

Totally different from the TV series but still enjoyable and very funny in places.

American Made 7.5/10 - Tom Cruise stars in the real life story of Barry Seal who during the 70s and 80s worked for both the CIA and drug kingpin Pablo Escobar at the same time. The film charts his amazing rise from a bored TWA pilot bring back boxes of cigars to delivering guns to the contras and bringing back drugs for the cartels. If it wasn't a true story, you would not be able to make this shit up.

Highly recommended.
